I LOVED THE OLD '' SPACE INVADERS '' GAME AS A KID . AND SPENT MANY AN HOUR AT THE LOCAL ARCADE . SO I SNATCHED THIS UP AS SOON AS I SAW IT IN THE STORE . I HAVEN'T HAD SO MUCH FUN PLAYING A SPACE GAME IN AGES ! THE GRAPHICS ARE REALLY COOL- AND YOU GET LOTS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHIPS TO DESTROY. PLUS AS A BONUS- YOU CAN DESTROY MOTHER SHIPS THAT PASS BY , IN ORDER TO GET EXTRA LIVES OR SPECIAL POWERUPS . THIS MAKES DESTROYING ENEMY SHIPS ALL THE MORE FUN !AND THERE ARE EVEN ENEMY SHIPS THAT HAVE THEIR OWN DEADLY COUNTERATTACKS .NOT TO MENTION LOTS OF COOL BOSSES TO FIGHT !! SO IF YOU WANT A COOL GAME THAT BLOWS AWAY A CLASSIC OLD TIME ARCADE FAVORITE , THEN LOOK NO FURTHER.. YOU'LL PLAY IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN .. AND YOU CAN EVEN UNLOCK THE CLASSIC GAME TO PLAY AS WELL.. SO GRAB THIS ONE UP . AT THE LOW PRICE IT IS SELLING FOR , IT 'S A REAL GOOD BUY !!

I saw this game last year, but for some reason I didn't pick it up. I thought it would be one of retro games where the gameplay is entirely revamped, but boy was I wrong. Has the game changed? Yes, but for the better. I would say it's more of an enhacement than a change. The greatest thing that Activision has done to this game was to keep the hyper-addictive gameplay that made the original like a magnet for my quarters. I LOVE THIS GAME!

A nice feature in this game is 2 players can play simultaneously. Also the alien creature you fight are different looking and after you hit so many of a particular creature in a row you get a special power bomb that has different explosive capabilites. Even though the game gets a little monotenous, it has enough to keep you interested. The old game is even embedded if you want to play the classic. After viewing the old one, I can't believe why millions of us ever pumped quarter after quarter into those old arcade machines after you see the remake. I highly recommend, it is fun for all ages.

Out favorite game! The simplicity of Space Invaders is the most rewarding part (No MBA needed to digest the manual). My 5 year old and I take on the aliens and then face the eventual "BOSS" of each level. 2 players can play as a team and that makes for much more enjoyable play, especially with kids (who wants to beat or be beaten by your kids?)
An enjoyable video clip at the beginning takes you back to the early battle of 1978 and then it is up to you to defend Earth as the re-invasion begins. This game has come a long way!

Hoping for a sequel!!

This is a much swept-up version of the old Space Invaders game; the graphics are gorgeous and the sound effects entertaining. There are end-of-level bosses to take care of and many power-up weapons to collect that provide you with more fire-power.

I would have given this game 5 stars except it's too easy to beat! The game keeps track of how long you've been playing and when I finished the game it said I'd spent 58 minutes of playing time (and I'm not a particularly good gamer!)

Hasbro's latest version of Space Invaders is awesome. It is quite similar to the orignal game but it isnt anywhere near as hard. Hasbro has enhanced the gameplay by adding powerups that have different functions, different background screens, and big bosses between the levels. A really cool function is the 2 player simultaneous mode where 2 people can blow away the aliens at the same time. If you beat all of the levels, you are rewarded with the orignal Space Invaders game, which is incredibly hard I might add. The graphics are good, and the gameplay is highly addictive. This one is fun for the kids, as well as the adults. At this price, this game is well worth it! I highly recommend it!

I bought this game because I thought it would be fun to walk down memory lane. Well, I never thought it would be as addicting as it is. I can play it for hours. Now I conquer the world everytime and always try & beat my best time. I am completely addicted! I have introduced it to 2 other friends and they are addicted too. I now call it a sickness we are so nuts over this game.

Even with two players playing together, it is a great game and a lot of fun. I would suggest getting this game if you have an urge to spend 45 minutes in intense video-game playing. Can't wait to get back to Earth though! We haven't quite made it yet!

this is just how i remember it! when i was ten playing on somebody 2600 or 2700 atari, but this version it plays like the original , but with cooler graphics that pop out at you. enough said buy. Highly Recommended!
