Arrrr, mateys!,

What a romp. What an assortment. Sad and serious to roll on the floor funny. White-collar pirates and filthy grunt pirates, noble pirates and confused pirates. I enjoyed all of the stories, don't make me choose a favorite. Gotta like the publisher's offer at the back of the book, too. I'll be signing up for 30% off the next books in the series.

Swashbuckling fun of the future,

This review is from: Space Pirates: Full-Throttle Space Tales #1 (Paperback)
For anyone who enjoyed the romantic pirating aspect of the past, this is a must read for the future of the profession. Some of my favorites were: "Adrift" by Carol Hightshoe, an interesting twist on the Flying Dutchman. "On the Eve of the Last Great Ratings War" by David Boop, a fun little tale where the humans are NOT the heroes. "The Claims Adjuster" by David B. Riley, an insurance agent? "Star Wench" by Daniel M. Hoyt, a classic story with a female touch. And many more - just as much fun to read.

Those glorious golden age sci-fi pulp magazines have now been reincarnated with the introduction of five trade paperback science fiction novels of galactic adventure, save-the-world suspense, and the merged technologies of magic and science. An absolute 'must' for dedicate fans of robust science fiction adventure is David Lee Summers deftly edited anthology "Space Pirates: Full-Throttle Space Tales #1", a series of fifteen swashbuckling short stories of piracy in outer space by some of the best new writers working today. With their brightly colored 'pulp magazine' style covers, all five of these new titles from Flying Pen Press are enthusiastically recommended for fantasy and science fiction enthusiasts, and would make enduringly popular addition to community library collections.

It's collections like these that are changing me into a fan of anthologies. Space Pirates is loaded with great stories of space pirates. From the sublimely silly Space Pirate Cookies by C. J. Henderson (my favorite in this collection) to the dark and disturbing Never Lie to Yourself by Uncle River, this collection has something for every fan of science fiction and space opera stories.I'm very happy this is book #1 in a series. I can't wait to get my hands on the other books in this collection. If the stories are as good as they ones in this book, they promise to provide hours of great entertainment.

I am a Senior Citizen Sci-Fi Space Fan and I throughly enjoyed reading this anthology of 15 stories. I look foward to reading the other tales in the Full Throttle Space series.
