This review is from: Space-Time Adaptive Processing for Radar (Artech House Radar Library) (Hardcover)
Guerci's book begins slowly (which is a very good thing if you're a beginner to STAP) developing the simple optimal adaptive beamformer and then accelerates into space-time (Space Time Adaptive Processing-STAP) quickly dealing with clutter, jammers and system noise. He then moves into practical problems with STAP, that is, non-ideal conditions and how to cope with them in a working system. Then a quick review of most of the significant current algorithms. Easy to read and follow. There are a few typo's but that's quite normal in a technical book with hundreds of equations.
It's a good idea to have an engineering tool available as you read the book (I used Mathcad) to try out the various algorithms and duplicate the results in the book. You'll develop a deep enough understanding that the standard texts such as Klemm as well as Brennan will be easily accessible. This is where all STAP engineers should begin! |
