4.0 out of 5 stars Killer Rifles
If this isn't their finest album, it still has to be considered one of their best. Great guitar work, cool lyrics and excellent song writing make this an extremely satisfying collection of songs for both old fans familiar with earlier albums and new fans who haven't had the good fortune to hear one of Australia's best bands.

The words are english but I often don't understand the order. But the use of guitars is truly amazing for one so young. Buy it but beware.

4.0 out of 5 stars What do mean young guys?, April 6, 2001

FYI--the Celibate Rifles have been around since the early eighties. They're one of the all-time great Australian bands! Since most of they're stuff is not available in the states, start out with the best of "Platters Du Jour." Other great Aussie bands to check out: Radio Birdman, The Scientists, The Lime Spiders, The New Christs, Eastern Dark, early Hoodoo Gurus, and of course Nick Cave's earlier band The Birthday Party.
