I've only had these scrubbers a few hours, so I'm not well acquainted with how they work. But I feel that I have been misled by the marketing of these. In the description above are listed the advantages written on the side of the box, but there's no mention of the Warning on the back.

Warning
* Use only for the designated purpose.
* This product has a natural abrasive which may leave fine scratches on some materials. Test first on an inconspicuous spot.
* Do not use on glass, non-stick coatings, or lacquer wares.
* Keep out of reach of children.
* Do not place near heat or fire.

The infuriating part is that one of the Product Features says:
* Designed for general cleaning purposes and removal of food and stains on glass, wood, plastic, high-quality nonstick pans or materials prone to dulling or scratches.

But it isn't for any of those at all, unless you don't mind their being scratched. As far as I'm concerned, this description constitutes clear misrepresentation of the product.

Furthermore, I'm not sure who decided that polyester is "environmentally friendly". I don't agree.

I bought both the gentle and course. They are all going back.

I've been interested in getting one of these for a while, and now have been using the original for about a month. It's pretty much all they claim it is (I always drizzle a little soap on it, though, and am not sure why the makers think you wouldn't need it...), but here are my hang-ups: It doesn't dry or rinse any easier than any other sponge, if you are someone who rinses and firmly wrings out your sponges. Side rant: Why do people have such sponge-hate, when they are simply misusing sponges? I've never lived with anyone (and I've had quite a few roommates) who wring out a sponge when they're done. Of course it will grow mildew and stink and be quite unsanitary if you leave it sopping wet in your sink. Gross! Sponges dry quite quickly if you squeeze them out and leave them resting against a soap bottle to dry. So, if you are a sponge-idiot, I suppose the spaghetti scrub will be better for you.

Biggest con: I realized that along with scrubbing my dishes, I probably use a sponge just as much for gathering crumbs and mess and scrubbing and cleaning my counter-tops and stove. For this the spaghetti scrub is useless, since it doesn't hold water or soak up water - it simply scrubs. If you want to sop up a spill or soapy water from your counter, you'll not be able to use the scrub, which means I now have two scrubbing products on my sink instead of one.

Also, I find the original to be a bit weak as a scrubber. I'd like to try the extra scrubby one before I disavow these altogether. I DO like that it's environmentally friendly and cute, but it's not as amazing as I'd hoped.

I really like this product. It took the film off some old drinking glasses and made them sparkle again and it's the perfect cleaner for my cast iron cookware. I recommend it.

you really don't have to use cleaning liquid with these. i'm not sure it's totally sanitary, but everything i use it on seems to be sparkling clean and i haven't gotten sick yet. they look great next to the sink, and really can clean anything.

So...this scrubby is great. All the wonderful things the other reviewers have said are true.

--It dries quickly, so it never gets gross and smelly.
--It's perfect for cast iron cookware because you really can clean pretty well without using soap.
--It scrubs stainless cookware without scratching (although I often use a dab of soap to remove the oil I cook with).
--It's pretty powerful. It scrubs MUCH better than any of my "gentle" scrubby sponges.
--It's attractive, comparatively. Even when it gets old and has accumulated bits of burnt crud, it is still way more attractive than an old stained sponge.
--It lasts. They do eventually accumulate enough junk that you have to replace it, but I would guess it lasts about 3 times as long as a scrubber sponge. If you designated a single scrubby specifically for broiler pans and the like, then your other scrubby would last prettymuch forever. Most bits of crud will wash out.

Like one of the other reviewers, I felt a little funny about buying a fancy scrubby over the internet. But it is so worth it! I don't think I'll even need to buy any of the coarse scrubbies. The gentle scrubby can even handle my broiler pan. But I admit I might buy the coarse ones just to get the contrasting color <grin>.

I felt a little silly about ordering a special scrubby online- I mean, how many sponges and scrubbers are there on the shelf at the nearest dollar store- but I'm glad I went for it. The spaghetti scrub works great, doesn't leave flakes or chunks behind, and dries fast. I really love it for my stainless steel cookware- wipes everything right out with very little effort. Plus, it looks cute and funky on my repurposed sponge-holder.

I purchased the spaghetti scrub after I had read several positive reviews on it. I haven't been disappointed. Since I started using more environmentally friendly dishwashing liquids, the cleanliness of my dishes has suffered! The spaghetti scrub is especially useful for greasy pots and pans, where my "green cleaners" really fail.
