Fist Full of Film Tracks,
By Colin "The Ninja Guy" (LA, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Spaghetti Westerns, Volume One (Film Score Compilation) (Audio CD)
This is an excellent album, that I came across in a quest to collect music from the video game "Red Dead Revolver" (by the way, none of the music from that game appears to be on this CD).
Let me warn passing fans: do not look to this soundtrack for the more famous of the spaghetti western musical pieces...for they are not here! Although there is some music from well-known films, like Ace High and Duck, You Sucker (the opening track to that is, in my opinion, Ennio Morricone's best work), most of the movies on this edition are less famous on American shores. This is, of course, a blessing! There are more wonderful tracks on this album than you could blast a six shooter with. Yes, that means that there are more than six worthwhile tracks here. In fact, almost all the tracks are more than worthwhile. And those that aren't, are still pretty good listening music. I suggest that you put baby on while working, or perhaps at some kind of picnic. Well...maybe not. My point is this: die-hard spaghetti western fans (those who've had plastic surgery to look like Clint Eastwood) will need this album. Slightly less devoted fans still need to take a look at this. Heck, everyone who's ever seen any of the Man With No Name films should listen to this, even if just to loosen up to other movies and their music. Unless of course, you hated those movies, and their music. In which case, I say, what's the matter with you?

Absolutely GREAT!!!!,
By Martijn13Maart1970 (Husavik Iceland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Spaghetti Westerns, Volume One (Film Score Compilation) (Audio CD)
I have a very extensive music collection, and was looking for something missing: that beautiful but haunted and lonely sound of Ennio Morricone's music: spaghetti westerns!
I was simply looking for all the soundtracks from those countless obscure Italian Westerns that where made in the 60s and 70s. But how to find them, or worse, the titles? This collection, as well as Part 2, 3, and 4, hosts them probably all. It also has an extensive booklet with very good info on the music, as well as the movies that made them, or is it the other way around? This set is simply the best Italian Western music money can buy, and should be famous and sold-out! I recommend to buy all 4 sets!
