A Double Fistful of Power, May 17, 2010
This review is from: Spaghetti Westerns (Strangers Gun Down / Today We Kill... Tomorrow We Die) (DVD)
VCI Entertainment has combined 2 of their previously released Spaghetti Westerns into one volume. Both are essential viewing for fans of the genre. 'STRANGERS GUN DOWN' is actually the alternate title to 'DJANGO THE BASTARD' with an eerie performance from Anthony Steffan which may have given Clint Eastwood inspiration for his identical film 'HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER'. 'TODAY WE KILL...TOMORROW WE DIE' has a screenplay by Dario Argento and has a west meets east villain which predates the orient Spaghetti's 'RED SUN' and 'STRANGER AND THE GUNFIGHTER'. Brett Halsey and pre-Trinity Bud Spencer head a solid cast and has a catchy music score by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino which bounces around in your head long after the movie is over. Both films are in their widescreen aspect ratios and have great sound and picture quality. If you missed these when they were first released, grab them now and round out your collection.
