5.0 out of 5 stars well build, works well
I have about 4 of these now. I'm thinking they last forever. One piece of advice that will make it work easier is to spray the inside liberally with Pam. I actually spray it about every 6-7 presses and they pop right out and reduce the rice build up. I normally cut them in half before I wrap with saran wrap, spray the knife blade before cutting and it will be a nice...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not like my original Spam Musubi Press
This press was made too deep. It's hard to make the rice patties the right thickness and the Nori (seaweed) gets ripped and crushed in the process. At the end it's difficult to eject the sandwich. I wish I did not buy it for my friends and family for Christmas gifts. The problem is I can't find the same model that I purchased 20 years ago from Hawaii.

We lived in Hawaii for 12yrs where musubi is very popular. Mine are normally made with Spam. Kids love these things.

Instructions-place on seaweed wrapper, one layer of rice-roughly 1" in bottom of mold-press it down a little so surface is flattened-add two slices of spam-I fry mine to slight brown on each side and give them a shot of soy sauce while cooking-then add another layer of rice on top of spam-press down to flatten and pull the mold up and off while pressing down. Wrap with saran wrap-keep about 4-5 days. best when fresh.

Great product. May have to put a little salt water on the top to keep from sticking.

I bought this for my daughter. It is very simple and easy to use to make Musubi. If you want to make Spam Musubi like they do in Hawaii, this will do it for you. As I remember, it was also cheaper here than on other web sites.
