4.0 out of 5 stars it depends on what you expect, January 5, 2003

This review is from: Spanglish Love Affairs (Audio CD)
AAnd you shouln'd expect a group like Destiny'S Child or at least the Spice Girls. This is made for a party on the beach and nothing else. This should keep you dancing and it's not important if the girls are really singing (They aren't) or that the lyrics are meaningful.
Wonderland: The leadsinger (whoever that may be) hits very high notes. Sounds good.
The Rigga-Ding-Dong-Song: PErfect for a party on the beach. With silly lyrics.
Sun Fun baby: I like this summer-song.
Do you remember: This is the first and the better one of tje two ballads. I like the choir. Very athmospheric.
XL-Holiday: This fun song is one of the best.
Tangomania: Another party song. Nice.
Hot tongue twister: THe lyrics are extremely stupid but I like the sound.
Let'S go crazy: It'S so-so. Listen to it on a party.
Passion gang: I don't like sound and lyrics. It'S so stupid.
Space attack: The sound is awesome. I really like it no matter how stupid the lyrics are.
I feel so blue: Sorry but there are too much stupid lyrics in one single song. This one and "Passion gang" are gong on my nerves.
Shine on: This one has the best lyrics. But it'S kinda boring
Wonderland (Liquid extended mix) The mix sounds like a club song.
The three girls were on bord of the plane that had a crash on 24th of november 2001. (MElanie Thornton also was). Maria and Nathaly died. Only Debbie survived.

5.0 out of 5 stars Typical, Tropical, Happy German Dance, July 11, 2000
By
Michael (San Diego, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Spanglish Love Affairs (Audio CD)
This group of three girls (two Dutch, one German) who debuted last summer with THE RIGGA-DING-DONG SONG, provide more of the same fun Euro-dance with a full-length album entitled, "Spanglish Love Affairs". Most of the tracks on this album are in the same format as the first single....undeniably catchy. The best tracks on this album are the ones that capitalize on that sound - THE RIGGA-DONG-DONG SONG(#2),SUN FUN BABY(#3), XL HOLIDAY(#5), LET'S GO CRAZY(#8) and SPACE ATTACK(#10). Despite the name of the album, 95% of the words sung are in English. The only time Spanish comes up are when various words and phrases are thrown into the English mix. But who's counting?? How can you not love these girls?? I mean, come on, just look at the CD cover....they are having way too much, and you will, too, listening to this album.
NOTE ADDED NOVEMBER 30, 2001: Tragically, Passion Fruit was in a Swiss airliner crash last week in Zurich. Only one member - Debby - survived. Maria and Nathaly were not so lucky. Neither of them survived the disaster, which also claimed the life of Melanie Thornton known best as the voice of dance group La Bouche. This is an unfortunate and untimely loss to the Euro-dance community. They will always be remembered fondly.

3.0 out of 5 stars happy pop, January 5, 2004
By
This review is from: Spanglish Love Affairs (Audio CD)
This is happy pop and dance music. All their hits are included and its a bit like their "Best of". Unfortunately the group Passion Fruit does no longer exist. Two members died in a plane crash, one member survived. The record company is planning no new formation.
