Product Description

AQuZ pasa, gringo?

Whether at a cantina in Mexico or a discoth?que in Spain, you better know how to shoot the s#*!-luckily for you, Talk Dirty: Spanish dishes all the dirty sayings in a variety of dialects. Packed with plenty of four-letter words, haba–ero-hot insults, and wicked expressions, this book will have you speaking like a true hombre. The Spanish-to-English translations will help you learn all the latest foreign slang, such as:

De puta madre: of the prostitute mother
Spanish Phrase: AMi tÂ’o tiende un coche de puta madre!
Translation: My uncle has a fantastic car!
Literal Translation: My uncle has a car of a prostitute mother!

Talk Dirty: Spanish-all you need for a sharper tongue and set of cojones.

Alexis Munier relocated to Europe in her mid-twenties and began teaching English at world-renowned language schools in Russia, Slovenia, and Italy. There, she learned the difficulties of infusing classic language study with the true native form. Now a writer and opera singer, Munier spends her free time in sunny Andalusia, Spain, where she is learning to salsa like a native and make authentic paella. She lives in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Laura MartÂ’nez has lived and worked as a journalist in Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, and Buenos Aires. She found her true second home in New York City, where she has survived a terrorist attack, massive blackout, neighborhood pipe explosion, and the transformation of Times Square into Disney World. MartÂ’nez lives la vida loca in Harlem with her franchute boyfriend.

About the Author

Alexis Munier has taught English at world-reowned language schools across Europe. Now as a writer she still finds time to perfect her Spanish slang! Laura Martinez (New York City) has lived and worked as a journalist in Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, and Buenos Aires.

3.0 out of 5 stars They blew it on the last chapter, September 19, 2009

I would give this book a higher rating, but I think they did something on the last chapter that is unforgivable. They censored themselves! They printed out some Spanish phrases, then instead of translating them into English, they put "XXX: Too Dirty to Translate"

Hello, McFly! The book is called Talk Dirty Spanish! It's supposed to have the translations of all the filthy stuff, that's why you wrote it!

People buy this book for various reasons, but mine was to avoid being embarrassed by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, and if you read the book, you'll see that Spanish has some very odd, tricky sayings that you would not suspect.

Censoring your own book! That really takes the cake! And by the way, it says "Uncensored" on the cover! That's a blatant lie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent., October 5, 2008
Disregard the last person's comment on this book. Anyone who has studied in a Spanish country knows that swear words are a staple of every conversation. Even college professors and grandmas swear here. If you would like to understand what is being said around you... this book is an excellent tool!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea and execution, May 11, 2009
This book is unique. I spent hours laughing at the literal translation to English. I'm a Spanish speaker living in the US and from now on I'll start using some of those translations in English, just to throw people off.
The book is not to be taken as a dictionary or some serious reference source. It's light-hearted and contains a chuckle in every page. At least. Congratulations to the authors.

2.0 out of 5 stars Catchy Title -- and it's a drity trick.
Book is about insulting comments and nasty remarks to other people. Unless you want to be the Don Rickles of Espanol, preserve su dinero.
