After completing Grade 1, which I also gave high marks, I am now on Grade 2. Book 1 basically was heavy on nouns and their genders and teaches over 200 nouns naming things found in and around the house. Grade 2 steps out into the community and teaches the names of occupations of the people there as well as the places where they work and play.

After this, we learn some greetings and responses, small talk and telling time. Then it's on to prepositional words and phrases and, of course, asking directions and modes of transportation. About a dozen present tense verbs are covered well and by the end of the book, one can read, write and speak using simple, well crafted sentences. This is so much the way of a child's learning that it's amazing. These books are designed for children. That being said, there are no coloring book exercises. Those are line drawings used to illustrate the nouns. The pronunciation keys are great, but the listening part of learning a language is still missing from this program. That's why the "say aloud while writing" step is crucial.

So far this series has helped me immensely. Because each book is only approximately 80 pages, one can revisit an entire book very quickly and frequently, so before you know it, you know it. Grade 3 to go.
