I have been looking all over the internet and in bookstores to find a Spanish grammar book that was just simply GRAMMAR... no exercises or cultural tips. This book is small, but it has all the points that I get confused about in AP Spanish. It also has a section in the back that covers idioms, and it even has synonyms of common Spanish verbs! I'm thinking about getting to Grammar Card and the Spanish Verb book to use with this book.

I teach Spanish. I require this book and its associated "Verb" book for the 4th year. However, many of my 3rd year students buy it as do almost all of my college-bound 2nd and 3rd year students. It is evidently a great little dorm reference book.

I am a teacher of Spanish as a second language and I encourage all my students to buy this book in order to have clear and simple explanations on those contents which often pose some difficulties to Spanish learners. This is a good book, as all are by Mr. Kendris. It has everything you need to know about grammer in Spanish. The only reason I gave it four stars was because some of his explanations are hard to understand and seem to not make sense. For example, when explaining the direct object pronouns, he said that "lo" is generally used instead of "le" to mean "you" in Latin American countries, but before that he failed to even mention that you use "le" to mean "you" in Spain! Otherwise, it is great if you are serious about learning Spanish.

If you're looking for a quick hitting reference book for Spanish Grammar that's easy to carry around, I recommend Spanish Grammar from Barron's Grammar Series.

Spanish Grammar is a small paperback that runs just over 200 pages. The great thing about Spanish Grammar is that it packs so much information into such a small package. It covers everything - nouns, pronouns, articles, prepositions, verbs, adverbs....the list goes on. The explanations are all clear and simple, and the book uses two different colored formats to make finding things easy.

You can take Spanish Grammar everywhere with you. There aren't too many other grammar books that have reviewed and have gotten so much use out of. Having a reference guide like this helps keep you from getting frustrated by things you don't yet understand. The idioms in the back are a great example because these aren't always covered in other textbooks.

I would recommend Barron's Spanish Grammar to students of all levels. It's one of my favorites.

Keep this book within easy reach because it is the most helpful, easiest to understand, grammar book I've come across. Full of helpful idiomatic expressions and word relationships that make it fun to learn Spanish.

This for a beginner and intermediate student. It does not begin to favorably compare with grammar books I've seen in the past, which covered a lot more fine points. So 5 stars for beginners and intermediate students, 3 stars for use as a reference for writers of Spanish.

Book arrived quickly, and was brand new, in perfect condition. My only negative comment is the typeface size, which is only about 10pt. (guessing), which is difficult for these older eyes. However, that's not a fault, just an observation. I am very satisfied with this transaction.
