5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent, reader-friendly guide for learning Spanish
I want to learn Spanish because my daughter-in-law is from Guadalajara. I also want to learn the language because I find it useful to know in everyday life. I've purchased many books to help me get started. Bill Harvey's Spanish for Gringos Level Two is one of the two best. (The other is The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning Spanish). Harvey's book is fun to use and...

3.0 out of 5 stars What happened to the tapes?
I enjoyed Spanish for Gringos Level 1 very much. The book and the cassette tapes were really great. I found level 2 in a local store and snatched it up.
The book itself is more of the same, which is great.
However, the tapes are really BAD in comparison. The original tapes were done by Bill Harvey himself.
I can identify Bill's hand in the writing of the...

The book itself is more of the same, which is great.
However, the tapes are really BAD in comparison. The original tapes were done by Bill Harvey himself.
I can identify Bill's hand in the writing of the script for the tapes, but they are performed by some elevator music DJ. This guy does not capture Bill's "life" or sense of humor. He also does not pronounce the words as distinctly as Bill does on the first set of tapes. I'm very disappointed in this aspect of the set. I miss Bill on the tapes tremendously.

I've purchased many books to help me get started. Bill Harvey's Spanish for Gringos Level Two is one of the two best. (The other is The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning Spanish). Harvey's book is fun to use and provides an excellent framework to build on. He does a supurb job "paso por paso" (step by step) of making the learning process easy for us "gringos." At its affordable price this book is an excellent value.

5.0 out of 5 stars More meat taht the first book, but same old fun style, September 28, 1999

Bill Harvey returns with an enjoyable follow-up to his first book. The video version covers the material from the first book. It would be nice to see another video for the second book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Harvey's second effort at play writing, April 28, 2001

This review is from: Spanish For Gringos Level Two (Paperback)
William C. Harvey satsifies our appetite for a sequel to his hit play write "Spanish for Gringos." In the sequel we see the return of many familiar faces, including several new ones, but unfortunately they appear and disappear just as fast as his previous play. My only complaints are the same as my review for his first play "Spanish for Gringos", which you can read. Harvey wrote a better play this time around with some interesting twists that will keep you guessing until it's dramatic ending. A must read for adventurous play actors/readers.
