Ten Random Things About Lynn You Might Find Cool:

1. I'm a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This makes my husband a HODAR (Husband of DAR), which I find hilarious.

2. I used to ride show jumpers when I was a teenager. Other teens were going out with their friends while I was riding horses every evening after school.

3. I'll try any kind of food once, unless it's really weird (like scorpion-on-a-stick). I have eclectic tastes and I believe life is an adventure! Why not try the food, right?

4. I got married in Germany and I have two anniversaries. The first is the civil ceremony, performed by the Burger Meister, and the second is the church wedding, which was the next day.

5. I used to live in Hawaii. This was every bit as cool as it sounds.

6. Though I lived in Hawaii, I am not a water sport kind of person. I do not surf. I do not snorkel. I do not like sticking my toes in an ocean in which sharks also swim. I did it on occasion, but it's not my favorite thing to do. I'd rather look at the water from the beach.

7. Flying used to terrify me, and now I like it. Except for the long lines and security and all that stuff, of course.

8. I'm an introvert, which is pretty typical for a writer. I love going to events and meeting readers, but I'm kinda scared too. What if you don't like me?

9. I don't eat dessert very often. I'm just not a sweets kind of person. I'd rather have the savory than the sweet. Chocolate is good, and I like it, but I don't have to have it.

10. I will read just about everything. Except horror. It scares me.

This may seem a harsh review however hate and revenge are ugliness personified so Alejandro relentlessly projecting his hatred and emotional baggage onto Rebecca for most of the story line is, well, ugly. Alejandro is a hateful, hate filled bully and I'm staggered with the gushing reviewer who writes that Alejandro is commanding and leaves her breathless and aching.

Rebecca goes through so much pain and name calling, with Alejandro calling her a slut more than once and this reviewer gushes that she was cheering for them the whole time and gush gush can't WAIT for next story. Alejandro's deceit is mind boggling and I don't see how this is a romance, or feel-good reading time. The make up is so shallow, so rushed - the author obviously has no problem imagining that all readers must be endlessly gushing.

Alejandro & Jessica had an affair that ended when Jessica walked a way, after a wedding planner showed up to plan his wedding with another woman. Feeling as though she had been used and betrayed by Alejandro, Jessica felt she had no other options but to walk away. Alejandro lost out on a major business deal that he thought Jessica had been behind so he sets out to destroy her family's business and her.

There is a lot more to this story. I did not care for the names the Hero called Jessica. But the passion between them deserved 5 stars. Of course the Hero ends up eating his words in the end as they always do.

Good overall story

I bought this book based on the reviews here and because I liked her other book. I was looking forward to reading about a stronger heroine than I have read in the Harlequin lines. Boy did I regret buying this book. I should have known better than to buy a book based on 5 star reviews, because you never know who really wrote them.

I couldn't get thru this story because the heroine was weak for a big CEO type and the hero was just a jerk and blamed the heroine for the death of his daughter, because the heroine walked out on him. Now how sane is that? He also kept blaming her for everything that happens later, like trying to give bad press to sabotage his company, without investigating. In reality, he was the instigator that brought down her company by loaning money to her father, to invest in bad investments in Thailand, which his subsidary company sold to heroine's father. The heroine was no better also than to keep sleeping with the hero even when he verbally abuses her and accuses her of being a slut and all manner of other things, which she takes and keeps sleeping with him. For all the heroine's supposed worry of the job to be loss in her company, she does nothing really to try and protect those losses, and is very superficial in her cares about her company and the people who worked for her. Heroine was not believable as a CEO, running a multi-million dollar company by herself, maybe as a PA. When she gets pregnant, it all goes to the wayside and she's off to London to work.

The plot was so thinnly contrived in the conflict because everything stems from the heroine running away. She keeps running away and never stands her ground. First when she thought the hero was engaged, she never let him explain he wasn't.

Spanish Magnate, Red-Hot Revenge was a magnificent debut book and if I hadn't already known it was Lynn Raye Harris first I would have thought I was reading a romance by a long published author, that's how incredibly marvellous it was.....just breathtaking!

Alejandro de Ramirez once a bull fighter and now a ruthless billionaire is out for revenge from his past lover Rebecca Layton. Ruthless doesn't even begin to describe him and he's now going to make Rebecca pay for what he believes she and her father took from him years earlier, a business deal which would have earned him not only millions but he would have been seen by his peers as a respected businessman. He's determined to learn the truth and insists she return to Spain and stay in his home so he can keep an eye on her.

Now out of the blue Rebecca is being summoned to Spain and not knowing the outcome or plans Alejandro has for her company, she doesn't know if she can withstand seeing her past lover again. She remembers all too well how he hurt her, how she found out while being his lover that he was to marry someone else. Now all she has is her company and he's going to take that as well? On top of everything else the past hurts, the secrets, the accusations he hurls at her, how dare he accuse her of cheating him? When she doesn't think she can stand anymore, she finds out he had a child that died?

Their time spent together was painful for them both. Each of them kept blaming the other. The attraction is so powerful and all they seem to do is continue to hurt each other. It's obvious that Rebecca hasn't forgotten at all and each day tears at her heart.
