This review is from: Spanish Missions (True Books: Westward Expansion) (Paperback)

The reading level is low with short sentences and large fonts. I thought my kids would enjoy the book because they tend to enjoy brief, easy books. But it was boring. For instance it says, "The priests taught the Indians how to farm the way Europeans did. The Indians planted seeds and pulled weeds. Later, they picked fruits and vegetables. They had to feed the horses, cows, and chickens." No mention of how the Indians felt about this. The whole book is like that... practical facts. Dry.
