Fantastic series. You begin by listening to a man a woman have a simple conversation. Then you are slowly brought through their dialog and then invited to join in. As the tapes progress the conversations get more and more complex, but what really works with these tapes is that the conversations continue to reinforce what you've already learned. You are not expected to have mastered every piece of the lesson before moving on to the next one. This is a tremendous help because 1. You remember the words through usage and context not rote memorization. 2. Being able to move on quickly helps keep the learning interesting. I found myself becoming more and more involved with the 2 people who speak Spanish on these tapes. Their personalities becoming more and more clear as our conversations become more complex. So overall, I am very happy with this program. My one complaint is that there is only one program in this series. Once the 4 tapes are over that's it, which is too bad.

Since my wife and her family are all fluent in Spanish, I was motivated to start to learn. These basic CD's were great for listening to in the car on the way to and from work, a great way to turn commuting into quality time. The methods employed constantly reinforce learned material while sprinkling in new vocabulary. I found myself easily learning and having fun! I can't wait to move onto the next set of Pimsleur CD's- Spanish I

I very much recommend this resource. Particularly to those who may only need a little Spanish for travelling purposes. This set has just a few CDs, but they are very good and easy to listen to. I took Spanish for a few years in school, but theses CDs have really helped me renew what I learned and of course taught me many new things. I'm sure the complete set is breath taking.

I got this book out of the library, and now I want to get Pimsluer Spanish 1. I found it very good as a supplement to my high-school Spanish learning. It helps with pronunciation, fluency, and thinking in Spanish. It only takes 30 minutes, so it is a wonderfull study tool. I also find it more interesting than flash cards.
I am biased against "learn to speak quick" courses because they usually aren't very thourough, but this one surprised me.

I found these tapes to be extremely helpful esp. in getting over the fear that I could not learn a language or pronounce one either. I look forward to getting started on Pimsleurs Spanish One.

I found myself understanding bits and pieces of spanish conversations on the street after only the first 4 tapes.

My one complaint is that for the price they could probably have included 2 more cassettes with this set. As it is you only get 4 hours of instruction.
