Great Head Lamp,

Bought two of these for my boys' first Boy Scout camping trip. Good value. Price includes needed AAA batteries. I've seen similar products for much more $$. This unit is light weight, and very bright. LED lights are nice and cool. User can choose 2, 4, or 8 lights for more or less (or is that less or more?)brightness. Lamp creates a wide path of light. Straps are very adjustable as they fit my elementary school aged children, but would also fit me.

The photo is misleading; the unit is much smaller than the image. The forehead harness is also smaller than it appears in the photo. The unit gives off good light and the batteries being included is a plus. I would have choosen the Rayovac Sportsman, if I had seen it before I purchased this model. The Rayovac unit is $10 cheaper; the image of the Rayovac unit looks more like this unit than the photo associated with the 8 LED Headlamp.

This is really neat. I never had anything like this. Hand held flashlight, "Good-bye forever!" Whoever it was that thought of putting a flashlight on the head, leaving hands free for work, deserves a prize.
I've seen coal miners on tv and sewer workers wearing things like this, but never did I dream of ever seeing one on MY head. I always had to laugh when I saw Ed Norton emerging from the depths wearing something like this. The head straps adjust to your individual comfort. Three brightness settings provide white light with forward, upward and downward positions. Positions hold well; adjustment feels calibrated. The product isn't weighty and generally durable. I'm glad I got it. Can't think of anything wrong with it. Uses three triple A's.

This was a Christmas present for my husband to replace the one that somehow disappeared (I'm sure our son, who is constantly getting into things, had nothing to do with it). Well, this light has 3 brightness levels, which my husband is just tickled about and is actually better than the one we replaced. Yes, my husband is extremely happy with it and I am happy with the price.

This head band flashlight is so comfortable I could wear it all day. And you can easily tilt the light upwards or downwards by just positioning it with your hand. You can hear the clicks as it locks into position, so there's no angle slippage. It comes with 3 AAA batteries which has not gone dead yet after several hours of usage. When they die out I will replace them with rechargeable batteries. It has a pushbutton on top for off, low, med, hi. I use the high (3 clicks from off) but I guess the other modes are to extend the life of the batteries. The battery replacement is the only bad part of this headband. Instead of a recharger stand you need to replace the batteries when they become weak. And to access the batteries you need a coin to unscrew the battery holder. But I like that it uses common AAA batteries instead of those expensive coin batteries.
If there is a rechargeable version of this with a recharger stand it would probably cost more. So, for its price it's perfect the way it is.

Well worth the money,

This product is well worth the money. It is by far the most comfortable head mounted light I have tried. It is plenty bright for my 1/4 mile walk down the hill to deliver the trash cans.

I got this to replace a light that had a single Cree bulb because the swivel broke making it strictly a hand held light. This appears to be much better made & more solid. Although these regular LED bulbs are not as bright as the cree bulb it does an excellent job of lighting up a sizable area. At first I thought that it wouldn't be bright enough for my needs but after using it I was very pleasantly surprised. It's an excellent light.

I bought this for my brother who had a stroke and can't use his right arm. It works so well for him. The light is bright and with the three different settings, it can be used in all different situations. It also adjusted well to fit his head.

Good accessibility of batteries, construction feels good, adjustable straps fit any head (including cub scouts!) well, and power toggle is easy to reach. I wanted to love this head light, and it has almost all I wanted, but it is simply not very bright. It's acceptable, but only just.
This head light is better suited for finding a good flashlight than it is for replacing a good flashlight. |
