The V000225010 was used in the Satellite C655D-S5043 - one of the most low-end, budget laptops sold by Toshiba in 2010/11. It came with the AMD V-120 CPU - a single core low power unit that doesn't match up to many smartphones & most tablets, much less other laptops. However, it was inexpensive & does what it was made to do. How do I know? I'm typing this on that exact model, which I've owned & been using since new. It's reliable & has never gone down for a moment in the last 4 years.

However, I'm still running on the original 2GB of RAM & it's as slow as a dog. As it's been so reliable, I started wondering what I could do to inexpensively upgrade the laptop & extend it's life. Balancing the equation: if it can be upgraded cheaply & gotten to run significantly faster, it can be worth it. Spend a ton of money to upgrade RAM, storage, CPU extensively, and it would just be smarter to buy a new, or used but newer laptop with better specs.

That's what I'm looking at now. The mobo has 2 memory slots and can take a max of 8GB - not bad. That would quadruple what I have in there now. It would also cost $70 at current prices. However, I may be able to double the current RAM to 4GB for just around $15 by buying one more 2GB stick. That seems to be the best value proposition at the moment.

Researching the AMD V-120 chip at Wikipedia, it turns out it was the LOWEST of all AMD mobile chips made on the "Danube platform" offered in 2010. It was a 25W TDP (Thermal Design Power) CPU.
(Other V-120 specs: Frequency: 2200 MHz; L2 cache: 512 kB; FPU width: 64-bit)

That's the chip that's matched to this mobo. According to Wikipedia all Danube platform chips were Socket S1G4 - so there's one spec for this mobo not provided elsewhere.

In November I ordered a Toshiba Satellite C655 Motherboard V000225010 for my son's Christmas. We did not celebrate Christmas until January 24. It was classified as new. He carried it to a local computer service center last week to be installed. They just called. The motherboard was USED and DAMAGED and completely USELESS. I will never order from this seller again nor will I recommend him to anyone else.

Currently I am rating this as a 2 - the board was the correct board, however, our processor doesn't fit on the board. We are in the process of finding the processor that will fit. Once my laptop is up and running, I may have a different opinion. I appreciate the timely shipment and receiving of the board.
