This review is from: Sparhawk Bride (Harlequin Historical) (Paperback)
From the back cover:

Love, honor and revenge

Michel Gericault had spent his life searching for the chance to restore honor to his father's memory. But nothing could have prepared him for what the Fates decreed--that his stolen bride, Jerusa Sparhawk, would become the thief of his heart...!

Though Jerusa Sparhawk fair dazzled as a rose-crowned bride, her girlish dreams of marriage were not to be. A soul-transmorming passion in the person of Michel Gericault had swept her away from the bridal bower, near drowning her in his legacy of danger...and desire!

And my review:

This is a popular and often used theme: the captive lady falls in love with her captor. That's not to say that it can't be done well, or in a new way.

This book started off well. I loved the clashed between the hero and the heroine. She was feisty, and he had more to him that his surface would show.

And while this author refrained from the horrible plot device of having the captor rape the captive (and of course she loves it - barf), she did throw them into bed together almost right away, and while the heroine was still engaged to marry another. Disgusting.

I stopped reading after this point. Don't bother spending your money on this book.
