This review is from: The Spark Inside (Paperback)
Though there have been quite a few books published on innate health and the Principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought, this is the first that I know of geared towards the youth and teen population. The author does a wonderful job of sharing these profound principles in a form that is easy for the average teen to digest. The language and metaphors/analogies used seem to be relevant and less forced than many books written for this specific population. In my practice as a therapist with teens, this book has played a key role in sparking insights leading to lasting change.
In addition, it has also opened doors for further exploration of this understanding by some of my colleagues not yet familiar with the principle-based understanding.
This book is a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book for Positive Youth Development, April 25, 2006
This review is from: The Spark Inside (Paperback)
This book is an excellent tool to help teens realize their innate wisdom. It equips them with a strong sense of self and helps them resist negative peer pressure that is contrary to their "gut" instincts. It was particularly helpful to a one teen who has been in therapy. She realized that she has the innate ability to deal with life and that she is not defined by the past, but can use her innate mental health to be happy with herself. I have used the book in working with both youth and adults. Though written for teens, adults find the text both enlightening and liberating. I strongly recommend it for families and youth groups of all kind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for . . ., May 27, 2008

This review is from: The Spark Inside (Paperback)
I am a therapist working with emotionally disabled teens at a high school. I have known about (and lived) the principles Ami speaks of for over 25 years, but was looking for something tangible that would explain the principles in a way "my" teens could understand. Many of the teens I work with have poor reading skills, so I was looking for something that was short and written in simple, clear language. This book fills the bill on all accounts! And, it is inexpensive, so I can give copies to "my" teens so they can review the material and continue to learn from it long after they have any contact with me. Thank you Ami!
