Gotta love the Swedes--by far the greatest locale for incredible music, they do it again with Marching Band. Gorgeous harmonies and impeccable production (really, mps dont do this justice--need to buy the CD) make this a hard-to-beat masterpiece. Go ahead--listen to the samples and see for yourself!

A nice piece of light pop with excellent harmonies, a strong musical flavour and some occasionally sharp lyrics, Marching Band's first album sneaks up and grows on you after a few playings. It's a highly enjoyable album that I've come to play many times over. I was introduced to Marching Band in Amsterdam, and they provide a lasting memory of a vibrant city.

Spark Large, the first release from Swedish duo Marching Band is a very nice collection of songs that has a consistent flavor of music without being repetitive. I first heard this band from a free compilation on Amazon's MP3 downloads. That song (Don't Go) is an excellent song that really grew on me. After searching around a bit (just try typing in Marching Band into Google...) I finally found the one album they have released. This album, like the first song I'd heard mentioned above, grows on you like a mood. Strong elements of acoustic guitar paired with great harmonies over simple, yet effective melodies combine to make this group unique in the singer-songwriter reemergence that has been fueled by the soundtrack explosion in recent years.
I recommend this album but make sure you like it by checking out all the samples available through Amazon's MP3 area. |
