Sparknotes are indispensable for getting through long-winded classic novels like Count of Monte Cristo. You will want to read it once through before starting the novel and then again chapter by chapter as you read the book. You will get a lot more out of the novel this way. BTW, I think Sparknotes are generally more thorough, more insightful and generally better written than Cliff Notes. Just one guy's opinion... :-) Happy reading!
