4.0 out of 5 stars Glorious PCI Card, December 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sparkle SP95GT1024D2LHP GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB DDR2 PCI Low Profile 128-bit CRT HDTV-Out DVI Graphics Card (Personal Computers)
I bought this card a while ago to replace my 6200gt. I was amazed when I saw that they had a 9500gt pci version. When I got this card, I put it in, and was amazed at the difference. I had a 2.5ghz single core and 1gb of ram, and could play Oblivion on high settings, with no lag. If you only have a pci option like I did, this card is amazing!

If you are stuck with PCI, this is a great card for the money! It is able to handle 1080p H.264 video playback without any lag on an old Pentium 4 2.4GHz system. I was impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars For older computers, a fine solution, June 18, 2011

This review is from: Sparkle SP95GT1024D2LHP GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB DDR2 PCI Low Profile 128-bit CRT HDTV-Out DVI Graphics Card (Personal Computers)
Our son uses a somewhat older computer with PCI slots, and no PCI-E slots. This card installs easily and greatly improved the games he plays. If you've got the PCI-E capablilty, would go that route with even more memory, but for those older systems, this is a big improvement over the junk many come with, and requires no power upgrades.

5.0 out of 5 stars 6X Speed-up on Video Conversions with nVidia CUDA, January 21, 2011

This review is from: Sparkle SP95GT1024D2LHP GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB DDR2 PCI Low Profile 128-bit CRT HDTV-Out DVI Graphics Card (Personal Computers)
I got this card for the simple purpose of speeding up my video conversion software, which has the option for exploiting nVidia's CUDA Technology, which offloads processing to the GPU. I tried this board in an old Dell Dimension 8100, but the BIOS is too old to accommodate it. However, my other barebones system with a 3.0GHz Pentium4 and 2GB of RAM took this card on a PCI riser board and with a little BIOS tweaking, I am up and cooking through videos at a 6X speed-up. Not bad for under a $100! I was concerned that the 250W power supply that states not to exceed 100W would not be sufficient, but the GPU barrels right along, never getting over 60 degrees C. As the other reviewers stated, if you still only have PCI in an older system, there is still hope with a card like this one.
