Tricky installation, needed 2 monitors to install,

The Sparkle GeForce 9500 GT 512MB PCI card was a bit tricky to install. I installed this on an HP DX2000. Here's what i had to do to get the card to work: (1) Install the Sparkle card, keeping a monitor connected to the integrated video on the system PLUS a attaching a second monitor to the Sparkle, (2) boot up into the HP BIOS and change the primary video setting to the PCI (Sparkle) card, (3) boot into Windows, install the Sparkle video drivers at the Windows new hardware wizard, (4) launch the nVidia control panel and switch the primary display from the integrated video to the Sparkle monitor.The tricky part is that I needed two monitors in order for the drivers to allow me to switch the primary monitor from the integrated video to the Sparkle video card. Without the second monitor, the nVidia control panel would not allow me to change the primary monitor setting. |
