Didn't expect a whole lot for the money but I didn't want to install a full-fledged alarm system, just something that blinked and would scare off the majority of the glove-box looters and such. Combined with 'The Club' it makes for a good system. Easy to install, easy to set up, LOUD as all get-out! I'll buy a few for travel and the other car. Give it a try, what have you got to lose, $14?

It's a simple little box that generates enough noise to be annoying to would be thieves (probably not enough to chase them away, but enough to make them think twice and make enough of a disturbance that you have a chance of catching someone messing with your car).

It's nothing special, but you get what you pay for. Also, shipping was quick.

I didn't have high hopes, but didn't want to spend money on an alarm designed to keep people from stealing my car (car is not worth stealing for one thing).

First I should say, the best way to avoid theft from your car is simply to not store anything there that is worth anything. Nevertheless it has not stopped desperate souls from poking around in my car whenever I might either forget to lock it, or from picking the lock. When you come out to your car and discover your glovebox has been rifled through, you feel violated. I wanted that to stop.

Enter the Sparkomatic RA-50. This comes with alarm stickers to place on the windows, and can be placed as discreetly or indiscreetly in your car as you wish. A special disarming key is required to disarm the alarm which emits a very very very unpleasant piercing noise if the car door is opened long enough before the alarm is disarmed. Mine is placed such that it would be very difficult to remove, but relatively easy to disarm without it going off.

No false alarms, no break-ins. Who knows if this item is the reason, but it's a little peace of mind for a very reasonable price. I'll update this review to let you know if there have been any break ins and what happens.
