5.0 out of 5 stars Hits the Mark
As the mother of a young girl, I had no hesitation about buying this album for my daughter (something I can't say for very much of the music out there that's flung in her direction). The music is upbeat, age-appropriate, and very reminscent for me of what life was like at that "just on the cusp" age, where romance is everything. The lyrics are thoughtful and heartfelt,...

3.0 out of 5 stars good enough simple pop
For the typical target (tween, teen girl, iCarly fan), the album will hit the mark. But for parents forced to listen along in the car, the full album can become grating. I wanted to like it more but only 2 songs were ones I'd buy as singles. Miranda's a good role model with a bright future so I am sure we will hear better things from her as her musical career continues.

As the mother of a young girl, I had no hesitation about buying this album for my daughter (something I can't say for very much of the music out there that's flung in her direction). The music is upbeat, age-appropriate, and very reminscent for me of what life was like at that "just on the cusp" age, where romance is everything. The lyrics are thoughtful and heartfelt, the tunes catchy and fun -- in fact a couple are so firmly entrenched in my head, I find myself humming them at work (much to my co-workers' chagrin). A great job by Miranda!

I had been waiting for her album to come out for a while and I wasn't disappointed! I can't get the songs "Kissing U" and "Disgusting" out of my head! I did like the ballads and am eagerly awaiting her next album whenever she makes it! I could listen to her sing for hours and hours! I am also eagerly waiting for her to start touring because I would LOVE to see her sing in person! My only wish is that she come to my town on a day that I could go and see her! Great album!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!, May 28, 2010

I like most kinds of music, so after liking the iCarly CD (got for theme song), I decided to try this one. It was actually a lot better than I was expecting. The CD varies a good bit so it isn't just one type of music for all the songs, which is always nice. Kissin U sounds much better off the CD then I did on Nickelodeon for some reason =P While no songs really stand out as "6 Stars", most of them are 5 or 4 Star songs. Either way, it makes a nice playlist on my MP3 player and is currently one of my favored playlists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spark Flying Debut, June 3, 2010
This review is from: Sparks Fly (Deluxe) (Audio CD)
I wasn't a fan of Miranda untill I heard her first single from this album. Every song in this album is so different from each other, but they are all full of possitive energy that makes you feel amazing.

My favorite song is BAM. But she has songs written by Ke$ha and Avril Lavigne. This girl is going places.

No time to waist, buy it now!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Can you say computer enhancement?, January 3, 2011

While I like Miranda on iCarly, her singing skills are apprently lacking somewhat as most(all) of her songs have a LOT of electronic wizardry. It's a shame really. I really wanted to like this music but sadly, it simply falls short. In contrast, her co-star Jennette McCurdy's singing skills are readily apparent in her too few songs, with no computer enhancement used or needed. This CD's songs are obviously aimed at tweeners and quickly become tedious and annoying to most adults. I realize that not everyone will agree with me and that's fine. I just feel that if she wanted to show us her singing skills, she should attempt songs without all the computer "fill". She should try it with maybe just a guitar. (like Jennette does on her youTube videos) That would be proof positive of her singing talent. If she lacks these necessary skills, then she should just stick to acting, something in which she has some talent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Gosh Darn Good! suitable for target audience and the parents forced to listen, May 1, 2010
This review is from: Sparks Fly (Audio CD)
First off I would like to say that Miranda Cosgrove has a very nice voice. And, she is very nimble with lyrics. This was first evidenced in her rendition of the iCarly theme song.

So the girl can sing pretty and can handle a phrase. But, can she carry an album?

The answer is yes. Her voice shines with sweetness and the songs soar. They are positive. And they are well produced and catchy. Really well produced. The album gives you a sample of styles and you get everything from rock riffs parents will like to hints of Avril and the Lady GaGa in style and beats.

The album is bright and happy and upbeat and clean. It fits its target audience of teens but it can also be listened to by an adult. It is some nice pop music finely produced. Kissin U, Adored, Beautiful Mess, Brand New you, BAM, Disgusting and Shakespeare all are all top quality. All of them sound like they should be on the radio.

All in all I really like this album and am glad I bought it. Catchy clean pop fun that you can bop along to while you do the housework. BAM needs heavy rotation.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Have Grown Up, June 28, 2010

With the exception of "Kissing You" I am not in love with this album. It's not really just this album but a lot of newer ones these days. I am 26 and have been listening to teen pop since I could listen to music but now it all seems so repetitive and redundant to me. Kind of sad that I am growing up. She has an amazing voice and is very talented but it is just not my cup of tea anymore. Other than my personal taste, I think others will be quite pleased with the outcome!

3.0 out of 5 stars Boys, Boys, Boys, November 13, 2010

Pros: Some of the songs are fun and you can relate to them

Cons: Not good for anyone below teenage age and a little too focused on guys/lust/love for the younger crowd

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, June 12, 2010
This review is from: Sparks Fly (Audio CD)
I love this album! My family and I are so into Miranda Cosgrove. She is such a wonderful actress. When I heard of this release I had to check it out. Wow! This album is great. Each song sounds great and makes you feel good. I myself bought the digital download version of this but that is just how I buy albums. You don't have to be a fan of iCarly to enjoy this but I must say that us fans sure do love this. If you love the feel good atmosphere of the show iCarly, this album will do the same, it will make you feel good. I hope Miranda makes more albums in the future. Get this. It's great.
