5.0 out of 5 stars What a perfect gem of a little book, March 25, 2009

This review is from: Sparrow Volume 9: William Wray (Hardcover)
The production values in this volume are high: The selection of paintings from Wray's oeuvre is both broad and representative and the photography is excellent in that it faithfully captures the color, texture and surface of the pieces. Having seen some of the work presented in this book, I can testify to the quality of reproduction. Living professionally through words I have a tendency to be verbose, but I won't be here. This is important work presented in this volume. Wray's paintings will be collected heavily for five- and six-figure prices. The work will end up in permanent collections of major museums. Of these facts I am absolutely certain. Buy this book. More importantly, buy the work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, March 11, 2009

This review is from: Sparrow Volume 9: William Wray (Hardcover)
Bill Wray's paintings are beautiful and well presented in this handsome volume in this atypically real-world-centric entry in the SPARROW series. His confident, bold, unfussy portraits of rundown LA are a joy to behold.
