This is a nice set of art books by some very talented people. It's nicely put together with no nonsense, just images of artwork. I have two small problems with the set, though:

1) The books are very small, especially for the price of the set. For art books, I would appreciate them to be at least 8"x8" to see more of the details.

2) The artists seem to have similar styles. It doesn't help that two of the books are by Ashley Wood and another two are by Phil Hale. I would like to see more variety, like the cartoony book by Shane Glines.

I bought this for the Ashley Wood books (I'm a big fan) but was pleasantly surprised by all the artists; I keep this on my coffee table to flip through rather than watching tv...it is inspiring for ideas and relaxing...a very worthwhile purchase for any artist and/or art lover.

ok so the art work is great, phil hale and ashley wood are amazing, but the photo you see for the item is not what you get! it shows six books( 1-5 and a slightly larger book of ashley woods' drawings), however this is not so. you recieve the books 0-6 all the same 6x6 size- unfortunate and slightly disappointing.

A large fan of each artist included, this purchase was expected to be quite the treasure on my bookshelf. The price lead me to believe, initially, that these books were large and contained many pieces of artwork. Previous to ordering, I looked at other photographs of the item, not included on amazon. What I saw was that the item was very small (5 Inches).

Still hopeful, with each artists work in mind, I continued with my purchase. Upon receiving the item, I was once again let down. Not only was the item very small, but the item was smaller than the images pictured, even on this site. You will see the photo shows 6 books, one of sketches that is larger than the others. This was not the case. In the item I received, all were very thin. Also because these were hardback books, there was more cardboard that pages in the book.

Anyone looking to purchase artwork by these artists should look elsewhere.

While this set is beautifully crafted, if you've already collected anything by any of the included artists, you've already seen 75% or more of the art that's in here, and in a much larger, more visible scale.

There is nothing to see in these books that has not been previously published elsewhere. I was looking forward to seeing new works by Phil Hale, but not a single work hasn't already appeared in Goad or Mockingbirds / Relaxeder. I am glad that I did not pay full price.
