This unique treatise fills a serious gap in the literature, covering the theory and huge range of applications of spatial tessellations. Central to the book are the differences noted between Voronoi diagrams and Delone tessellations. The authors define and explore the basic properties of the Voronoi diagram, present algorithms for computing these diagrams; and cover Poisson Voronoi diagrams, spatial interpolation, models of spatial processes, point pattern analysis, and locational optimization using Voronoi diagrams.
