5.0 out of 5 stars A Cookbook for Kids, but also for Grandmas!
I'm a cookbook collector from way, way back, and I count the Spatulatta Cookbook as one of my favorites. It's not just kid friendly. It's grandma (or grandpa!) friendly, too. Filled with wonderful recipes and all kinds of practical tips, the cookbook is delightful to use. One feels as if those darling little authors, Olivia and Isabella, are right beside you the whole...

1.0 out of 5 stars gimmicky kids recipes
My son (age 5) got this for christmas. We just made the weiner dogs out of hot dogs (wrapped in crescent roll dough) The project was annoying and finicky and gimmicky as are most of the recipes in this book. This is exactly the kind of cooking for kids book that I hate. You shouldn't have to make it look like "ghosts in a graveyard meatloaf" (with the mashed potatoes...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, delicious, and colorful!, September 10, 2007
This review is from: The Spatulatta Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
I absoutely LOVE this cookbook- it is faboulous! The book is filled with lots of knowledge, helpful tips, and great recipes! I'm almost fifteen and I think this coobook is great not just for kids but for everyone- just because it's called a "Kids Cookbook"- doesn't mean you'll be feasting on Mac N' Cheese and chicken fingers- this cookbook features some pretty sophisticated foods- but with easy to follow instructtions! Not to mention, a great section for vegeterians and snacks. The pesto pasta has to be my favorite. It is absoutely delicious. I can smell the garlic from my bedroom! Yummm! I can cook dinner for my entire family!
Love this book, and I'm sure you and your kids will love the colorful pictures, delicious foods (a lot of great healthy options too...so it's great for people that are dieting too. *mhmm me*) Faboulous book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Healthy and Fun!, September 6, 2007

This review is from: The Spatulatta Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
The Spatulatta Cookbook is perfect for my nine year old because she can actually tackle some of the recipes herself, with no help from me. She LOVES the Berry Dip n Roll - it's fast, easy and it's good for her!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of a kind!, September 15, 2007
This review is from: The Spatulatta Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
While the genre of "children's cookbooks" is sparse and generally disappointing, The Spatulatta Cookbook is new and fresh, and raises the category to an entirely new level. The layout is fun, the photography beautiful, the writing enjoyable, and the recipies just delightful. The cookbook offers a great way to have fun in the kitchen with your children. My 5-year-old loves watching Isabella and Olivia in their online videos (www.spatulatta.com) and then going into our kitchen with the cookbook and trying her hand.

The first recipe we tried when we got this cookbook was the Heart-in-Hand cookies. My four year olds loved them! We can't wait to make the Graves in the Ghostyard Meatloaf for our annual Halloween "creepfeast!" Wonderful book - I would purchase this for every child I know.

The Spatulatta Cookbook by Isabela and Olivia Gerasole is a creative, unique cookbook full of visual aid pictures showing the end result of each recipe. Not only is it terrific for the young ones but for the beginning adults. The show and tell approach throughout the book and the glossary explanations are excellent.

I love this book. Not only is it teaching my children how to cook healthy food they are having a great time doing so. They are learning to make healthy choices along with using math skills by measuring. I'm putting this book on my Christmas list for all my nieces and nephews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy This One!, September 11, 2007
This review is from: The Spatulatta Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
For the past two years my three children have so enjoyed watching the Gerasole girls cook their little hearts out on [...]. Liv and Belle have sparked an interest in cooking I could only have hoped to develop in my children. To say we are thrilled to be the proud owners of the new Spatulatta Cookbook would be a gross understatement! We now have fifty of the girls' wonderful, tasty recipes at our fingertips. The book is beautifully laid out and the design and colors are extremely appealing to the younger audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Easy-Super Fun-Super Good, September 9, 2007
This review is from: The Spatulatta Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
My grandchildren are very excited to come over and get out the Spatulatta book to see what they will make. We want them to grow up loving to cook and to really know that all food does not come out of a box. This book is perfect for that because these little people explain throughout the necessity of eating nourishing food. They make it fun! This is very well written and beautifully photographed. It is highly recommended! You should see their smiles when they look at you as they are sitting down to enjoy something that they had a hand in making.
