Spawn: Armageddon's storyline goes like this: A group of renegade angels have launched a massive weapon straight into the depths of hell in an attempt to destroy it. Unfortunately, the side effect of this weapon strike is that hell's minions now have an easy exit to the earth's surface. In addition to that is an escaped experimental supersoldier, developed by Spawn's primary earthly adversary, Jason Wynn.

Now that you know what the game is about, you can know how bad it is.

First off, you have an extremely lackluster fighting system. Press punch once and you'll swing Spawn's axe. Press it twice, and it does a different one swing attack. Press it three times and you get 1 combo. So basically it goes (1) uppercut slash, (2) a forward flip attack, and (3) a jumping axe slam attack. How exciting is that? There's also a one swoop jump attack, but you will only need this in special cases and even then it becomes repetative.

Second, the guns are pretty useless, when it comes down to it. I'm curious why no one in the production team thought to ask why have guns, if you can't find enough ammo to use them adequately?

If the game has any saving grace, I would have to say it lies in both your chain attacks and the special moves as they are fairly interesting. The chain attacks are by far the best thing this game has going for it. You can either use them to simply pummel your foes back to the underworld or you can send them there in pieces, literally splitting them to the four winds!

The special moves are called "Hell Attacks" and there is a meter to regulate how much you can abuse it, because let's face it, you will. Most of them are various projectile attacks, but the most useful ones would be the time-dilation effect and the furies from hell.

The time-dialtion basically gives you the ability to move faster than everyone else, or slow everyone down, depending on how you look at it.

As for the furies, Spawn has the ability to summon a group of spirits from hell to attack an intented victim. A very satisfying move indeed.

The absolute worst part of this game are the jump puzzles. Who puts jump puzzles in a superhero game? It defies all reason. You will need to use your cape and chain power to pull off these ridiculous yet necessary excersizes.

Don't expect good music either. This game has the most dreariest hum tones I've ever heard. There's simply no life to it.

Finally, if you want a repetative poor excuse for a superhero game, or are just a die-hard Spawn fan, then this is the game for you.

Spawn: Armageddon is worth every single dime in your pocket! It has to be the best action game of 2003-2004 year because overall is has awesome graphics, great plot, and its addicting. All those who seen the Spawn movies or Spawn animated series should pick up this game for their system & game collection. I recommend this game to everyone, its worth buying.

Pretty good game , I never played any of the others , but so far this is the best Spawn game , only problem I have is , I find it hard to get Spawn to respond to my controll comands , I always seem to shoot at nothing and glide to my death , but once ya get it figured out it becomes pretty clar .

This game is my favorite Spawn game. Excellent graphics and gameplay and music. I have hours of fun with this game. If you are a hardcore spawn fan, then pick this game up. I guarantee you'll have lots of fun.

Mind you the graphics cannot compare to those of Metriod Prime. However the game is mad wicked. When you kill enemies with you axe and you stand still you can see the blood drip from it. You can glide and the cape is cool. If you like action kill everything in site game, then this one is for you.

It was fun to be a comic book hero. It was reading the book and interacting at the same time.

This game is, what can I say, totally wicked! Amazing graphics, awesome special attacks, sweet guns, and, what better way to top it off... a great bunch of villians! Mostly hell soldiers that come at you by the dozen, but, also some villians from the comics, like Violator and Angela.
I recommend this game to any Spawn fan, and also single player game freaks. A well earned five stars!!!
