5.0 out of 5 stars A Interesting Take on The Story
Macgregor did a great job adapting the screenplay into a novel. His version of the movie reveals scenes that were cut from the film and gave a insight into the minds of the various characters. Macgregor is able to show the conflicting sides of Spawn's character and how he struggles to adapt to his new body.

This novel is a great fantastic read for comic film...

1.0 out of 5 stars Cool Concept, lousy book
Written for your average 3rd grader. The language is simple and uninteresting. Reads more like a narration of the movie rather than a novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Like the Movie, November 1, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Spawn: The Novel (Paperback)
This book was written from the movie "Spawn." If you have not seen the movie yet than buy the book because it is exactly the same thing only cheaper than a ticket! It is loaded with action and Mr. MacGregor makes the images almost come alive in your head. A good read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lacking details but otherwise a great book., March 23, 1999

This book was very good. Only thing I didn't like was that it was lacking in details and it was completely different from the movie.

1.0 out of 5 stars keep away from this one, March 31, 1998

The movie may be great, but the book really stinks. A definite thumbs down. The storyline is silly, the author can't describe action well, the lines are as corny as Corny 'Os, IT STINKS! It's not worth your cash, trust me on this. It doesn't have that humane touch in it at all like in the movie, it's more like a sick horror slasher book. Here's a piece of advice: never get books written after a movie, they nearly always stink.

1.0 out of 5 stars A COMIC FAN'S NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!, July 14, 2005
This review is from: Spawn: The Novel (Paperback)
me being a kid, most people would assume i don't read spawn comics. I do. i love them. however, the movie and the book were a huge letdown. spawn is near and dear to my heart and it pains me to see that the movie and the book forgot to include the main villains of spawn, the deep, confused, angry personlity of spawn, and the overall darkness and grittiness of the comics. im sure any nerd/geek like me who loves and knows spawn would agree!

4.0 out of 5 stars SPAWN by ADAM A.K.A SPAWN, March 12, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Spawn: The Novel (Paperback)
Spawn is a man who wored in the CIA and become an assasin who got murdered by his boss and went to hell. He comes back from hell and finds out that it is 5 years later and his girl friend gets married to his boss`s assistant.Spawn finds out he has powers like no other. An evil clown explans how his hate for the man that had him killed is what brought him back from hell to get revenge.Spawn finds out that the clown did not tell him everything, his boss has an implant in his heart, if his heart stops beatingit will release a deadly diease throughout the world.

I liked the book becouse I love books that have action, character with powers, and a good ending. My favorite chacter was Spawn, he had powers that were cool.

I recommend this book to hardcore action people. This has lots of violence so only kids 12 and older should read it.

4.0 out of 5 stars PRetty cool but different from the movie, May 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Spawn: The Novel (Paperback)
THis book was pretty cool until Spawn fought Violator in "HEll's basement." HEll had flickered into Wanda's living room and basement???? I dont' think so!!! And then they had that really long, really boring, really complicated part in which Terry, Wanda, Spawn, Spaz, Zack, Cagliostro, Wynn, and that one reporter all head down to the docks to try and stop the HEAT-16 from being distributed to the MId-East. ANd Cagliostro used the "ancient spearhead" to hypnotize wynn. THat sounded like somthing out of Sabrina the Teenage witch! See the movie, its much better.
