Bloody Marvelous, mostly!,

Spawn, is a game that is alot of fun if you realyy get into it. Though sometimes it get difficult with the frequent death rate, in the end you still love the havoc you can reek with a missile launcher or magical chains. The graphics are crisp and the camera is pretty decent. The framerate is a solid 60 fps and the weapons are plentiful and amusing. If your a fighting game fan and you want take a break from massive combo capcom fighters, pick this title up. If your looking for fighting depth, look elsewhere. This is maniac fighters only. At least a rental, for everyone else.

Mulitplayer options abound in Spawn,

Spawn:In the Demons Hand, is a game reminscent of Gauntlet, where more friends are not only better, they are needed to unlock more aspects of the storyline, and aid in unlocking special characters. The graphics are top rate, the special powers are wonderfull to see if you are a fan of the comics, HBO animated series, or someone just in awe of the world of SPAWN. The controls have a slight learning curve of a half hour, or so, until you master the art of aquiring or switching weapons in combat. All the characters are there, each with distinct abilites, some abilities like the SPAWN Mythos drain your very life force when you use them. Others merely require you to reload, the Angels from Heaven are stunning, plus they can move as one would expect(they fly). The Violater, is here in all his glory, the characters are well rounded, the choice of weapons is excellent. This game has a high replay value if only to unlock the extra 24 characters, multiplayer is fantastic, the display icons could be larger, but aside from an occasional camera angle snafu (i.e. you get blindsided in corners), this game is a must have for fans, & multiplayers alike.

Spawn: not as good as it could have been.,

The first time you boot up this game in your Dreamcast you are going to be impressed. This game looks great but doesn't play very well. The concept is along the lines of a deathmatch. You choose a mode of play; team play, boss attack or deathmatch, then pick a character and level. Gameplay consists of running around wonderfully designed levels shooting, blowing up, and slicing apart your oponents. All of the popular characters from the comic book are here, and some of the levels might be familiar to a few fans too.The graphics are absolutly mind blowing. Some of the best graphics I have seen on the Dreamcast to date. The characters are highly detailed and the level design is wonderful. After you pick your jaw off the ground and grab the controler to start playing things begin to go down hill. The controls for this game are not very user friendly at all, and the camera angles are going to frustrate just about everyone who plays it. You aim with the analog stick and move with the digital pad, all while using the buttons to jump and change weapons. If we all had three hands it might work but for those of us with only two, it is very frustrating. Overall the game is alright, wonderful graphics but horible controls. Single player can get a bit old fast but this game is a lot of fun with someone to spar off against. I would only advise the die hard spawn fans to buy it, the rest of you casual gamers might want to rent it first. Spawn is not a must have for the Dreamcast.

Spawn ROCKS,

This game is the best game on dreamcast. You have an uncountable amount of hidden characters that you can only unlock by beating the boss mode with different characters each time. Sometimes you get 2 new characters, 1 new character, or, unfortunatly none. You can play for hours without putting down your controllers. I couldn't.

Absolutely brilliant (At first),

This game is absolutely brilliant at first: the splendid graphics , the plethora of weapons at your disposal, the genius level layout, the more than abundant gore but the fun gradually fades away after about 6 or 7 hours of playing it. Do not get me wrong, this one of the best if not best spawn based games available right now but nothing can negate the fact that it just becomes a bit tedious after you have unlocked most of its characters and galleries. If it was not for this I would give this game a five star rating, albeit if you can find this game at a bargain price, like 10 US Dollars, I would highly recommend buying it.

On most current games like Unreal 2 for Xbox, you have to control the aiming manually. But with this Spawn game for Dreamcast, it has automatic lock-on aiming, and the sword and axe weapons do not require you to aim.
So it's very easy to control your characters movement, and it's not frustrating. There are over 30 characters taken from the comicbook. And most of them look great in 3D graphics. I think this is one of the top 5 games made for the Dreamcast. Although the Dreamcast certainly had more than 20 games that were A+ quality.

I sold my Dreamcast a while back, a long while back and now regret it. I cant stop wanting to play this game. Dang i wish i could play it on my Xbox. The controller is prefect for the game. I still remember the filling and the squills of my Friends as i jump down behind them as Dark ages spawn. They new they where dead. or when my cousen missed a shot with twitch and found a tremer fist in his face. OH YES I REMEMBER i guess i will have to buy a dream cast agian just for the game.

When i first saw Spawn:In the Demons Hand for Sega Dreamcast i was not sure whether the game would be any good. I remember the other spawn games for other syatems and i was always dissapointed. I am not a large Spawn comic book fan but i do think those action figures were pretty cool. I decided to get the game because it looked like a pretty good game, but i kept the reciept just in case. I threw that reciept away so fast. This game is the most incredible game i have played in a long time. It has so much replay and great multiplayer, i just loved it. It reminds me of a mixture between Quake 3 Arena and Power Stone 2. The crazy gun battles with awesome powerups, combined with huge multi-level arenas and items of mass destruction scattered about the arena makes this one crazy game. The camera and controls seemed odd at first but they became like second nature. Each charachter you pick has his own certain weapons ans super attacks it takes a while before you master them all. Go pick this one up as soon as possible, trust me you wont be dissapointed.

i loved the animated series back then and now, and never delved into the comics then until as of late, so i'm no spawn fanatic/guru, but am a huge fan! this game is perfect for that purpose! any spawn fan, whether extreme or just avid, should seek out this title. and here's a few reason why:
1) spawn is in it!! not only that but has a bunch of playable characters from the comics! you start the game fresh with like 8 or something characters and unlock the rest by beating the game. this game is four players, AND tag team (capcom), for intense split-screen action! 2) the game play! it's not what you'd expect from the previous spawn games released. instead, capcom steps in to meld ingeniously with todd mcfarlanes creations, and hence, in demons hands exists. gameplay is very, very similar to heavy metal geomatrix, also on the dreamcast. heavymetal was fun( check it out) but was too much like saturday morning cartoons. spawn however is DARK, yet colorful( graphics-next). also maybe similar to power stone gameplay. there are a miriad of weapons (GUNS MOSTELY) to destroy and accessorize with through the game, and plenty of space in the levels to navigate with four players, with the exception of maybe a couple which are kinda small, which i could imagine get TOO intense for four players. NOW I'VE HEARD ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CAMERA. let me add, the camera works perfectomundo for me!! (controls-next) 3) graphics!!!! the dreamcast was such a beast of hard and soft wares!!! it definatley holds for today, july 2010! what i found especially eye grabbing were the enviroments! the levels are fantastic! with multi-leveled stages and plenty to explore! you won't believe this game is ten yrs. old! NOW, my only gripe is the character graphics, particularly spawn himself. WHERE'S HIS SHROUD/CAPE!!!! what the 'ef! i mean even if you couldn't use it as a weapon it would have looked awesome just to see move while jumping off some roofs blasting his guns! and the other characters, while very good, won't wow you to death either. not that you wont think, 'damn this look kick-ass'! atleast the level design is phenomonal and PLENTY of special effects that you'll be on the floor twithcing even if you dont have epilepsy. haa twitch. OK HERE'S MY REVIEW: GRAPHICS: 4 OUT OF 5 the graphics are tight! the only thing holding it back from that perfect score was what i mentioned earlier. even heavy metal geomatrix, being older, has better character graphics at times. but not better characters!!!!! ;] GAMEPLAY: this game IS ARCADE STYLE, because it's an arcade port! LOTS of action, NOT action adventure. sooo many characters, and i believe mode correct me if i'm wrong, to keep you coming back for more and more. the four player mode is what it is all about!! ashame cant get online =( f'ing fossil >=), so i give it a prestigeous 5 OUT OF 5! CONTROLS: 4 out of 5 i don't know what some people are talking about camera being gay at times. i will admit it takes getting used to, like the controls of all good games, but it's not the controls, IT'S YOU! simply press Y and spawn will see whatever direction he is facing. that easy. and the above camera follows just right. i guess we all have those moments where it gets alittle heavy and we have a mind-fart/"control-issue"! the controls are great with plenty of functions to ensure victory! only thing keeping it from a perfect score is its age. the DC controls only have one analog, which they didn't even take advantage of! nonetheless, the DC CONTROL is one of the all time best, but n/e ways, controls are debatable. thats my verdict. MUSIC: 3 out of 5 maybe it's just me. intro bgm was a bit cheesy, not the CG tho, and nothing throughout the game got me really pumped aside from the guns rattling and crys of pain! it features your run of the mill metal/hardrock intrumentals. even heavy metal geomatrix has a better soundtrack. i recommend having your own custom music playing in your background to set the mood. but DON'T mute the game. remember guns! and at the title screen hear a voice actor say, " SPAWN!!!" sounds kinda like keith david from the animated series MY OVER ALL RATING: GRAPHICS: 4 OF 5 GAMEPLAY: 5 OF 5 CONTROLS:4 OF 5 MUSIC/SOUND:3 OF 5 GAME: 4 OUT OF 5!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
