5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Will Not Help You Become A Better Speaker . . ., October 2, 2000

. . . but it will help you get booked. If you are looking for a book on professional speaking techniques, this is not the book for you.

Speak & Grow Rich is about the business of speaking: How to get booked, what to charge, why you need a book, how to become an expert, how to work with agents and bureaus and much more. It is absolutely essential if you are entering the paid-speaking business.

No one gives more than Dottie and Lilly Walters. These great speakers are the most generous people in the business. DanPoynter@ParaPublishing.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for all speakers, March 20, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Speak and Grow Rich (Paperback)
This book has helped me so tremendously that I am having a hard time finding the words to write. It's a very well organized book with concrete and diverse information. After reading this book I realized I needed to do a whole lot to revamp my website and marketing materials. It helped me to think even more like a speaker. Being new to this industry I have ordered several books to learn how to market myself better as a speaker...this was one of the best books to do that. Dottie and Lilly really speak "real". They give it to you straight. The book is not just a bunch of fluff and "big stars", but they break down every detail of the industry and give you concrete reasons why something will work or hasn't worked. I value their book because they have worked in the industry for a long time. This book has basically been my "speaker coach".

5.0 out of 5 stars This launched my career!!!, December 4, 2004

Lee Fuller "Reviresco" (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Speak and Grow Rich (Paperback)
Speak and Grow Rich is key for any speaker who is serious about the business of speaking. I continue to get revelation each time I refer to it. The author is clearly concerned and interested in the success of everyone who reads it. My career as a speaker would be, at best, mediocre without the valuable insights, suggestions, warnings and techniques shared within. Speak and Grow Rich provides a service to us in the field so we can better serve those we speak to. Buy this book and study it.
