God, I love this little guy. I named him Stinky, because he looks like a Pac-Man ghost, and the Pac-Man ghosts are named Inky (Blue), Blinky (Red), and Pinky (Pink). There's no white ghost.

First off, he's adorable. I bought him as a Halloween present to myself, but he's just as cute in May. He's also very modern looking. Very smooth. No buttons or gizmos, and the speakers are in the eyes, so from first glance, he doesn't look like a speaker at all - just an art piece.

He sounds really good. He plugs right into the wall - no batteries, which can be a good thing or bad thing, depending on whether you want to take him outside. I like him inside, so there's no problem.

There are no buttons on Stinky. You have to learn to touch the ghost in just the right spots to control your music and volume. It's a little tricky at first, but you'll get used to it quick.

On another note, there's a tiny blue light that shines from underneath him whenever he's on. You can't turn this off. I believe the manufacturer built it in so that you would be able to know whether or not he's on (If the music's not playing, there's really no other way to tell). I found the blue light a bit distracting after a while, so I covered the bulb with a tiny piece of black electrical tape. As it's underneath his body, no one can see.

So... To sum up. Stinky is cute. He has a nice voice. He likes it when you touch him. And he shines like the moon. The End.

Purchased this a few months ago to play music in the baby's room on an iTouch. Setup and use is pretty straightforward though I had to do an Internet search to learn how to adjust the volume (touching the ghost's "temple" area, but it is hit and miss). I love the way it looks and is cute sitting among the stuffed animals on her dresser. However we had to stop placing he iPod in the dock because the speakers would start thumping with some sort of feedback. I instead hooked it up to the wire, which is less cool because now you can't use the remote to pause or skip songs. Now after a couple months it's starting to make some other annoying sound. Every 30 seconds it makes this sound like a car starting up. Not as loud but loud enough that it ruins the experience of listening to music.

So, as much as I like the package, the functionality is lacking. It going back or into the garbage. If you buy one, save the packaging and return info. You might need it.

As far as desktop size ipod speakers/charger's go this was the best sounding that I've heard. But don't expect this to replace your your home surround sound system though, It's far to small to pull that off. Also, No battery compartment. This unit needs to be plugged in to work. The sound quality is good and the bass isn't lost like on most other desktop speakers thanks to the built in 9 watt sub. I can confirm that it works fine with both an 8GB ipod 3rd Gen. nano and a full size 120GB ipod as these are the only ipods we own. My whole family loves the iboo and it has become a conversation piece when ever company comes over. The bottom light's up blue and looks cool in the dark. We keep it in the game room by our Ms. Pacman/Galaga standup arcade machine as it fits right in with the Ms. Pacman decor. Note there have been complaints about the ipig with newer ipod models. If worried read all reviews before purchasing iboo.

I'm no sound engineer, but I know when a speaker system distorts its low end (bass) significantly. That is my main issue with this device, sound reproduction quality. I can overlook its cheaply made remote with poor layout of butons; the jerky volume controls; the fact that when you put it on standby and then start it again, the volume will change from its previous setting to almost full volume; the touch controls that sometimes are unresponsive; or that the dock adapters are too genreric and don't provide enough support for an iPhone 4 without a folded paper shim to maintain electrical contact. No, of all these detractors the poor sound quality is what bothers me most. Even using a lower bass eq setting on my iPhone or iPod nano doesn't curb the bass distortion. You can't play anything hiphop or classical music with low tones, you will hear the small woofer in the system like a tool file rasping away at a piece of wood. Good thing our 5 month old hasn't developped his hearing as well as his parents have, or he'd be crying from that really lo-fi sound reproduction.

The sound quality is amazing for such a little gadget. I was comparing the iBoo to its other iFriends with more speakers but this is meant for my bedroom on my nightstand for iPod recharge and music around the room so there was not much difference for me to go with more speakers. The different iPod docking attachments makes it compatible with any older ipod version you may have around. The remote is easy to use. The volume controls and play and pause button on the iBoo itself works good. Sensitive to touch but as you are moving the iBoo, one may forget its touch sensitivity and majorly increase the volume. The only kink I encountered is that when songs are changing, the iBoo volume may increase dramatically - this may be due to the way the mp3 was coded and then stored on my iTouch. The remote that comes with it has a default button which when pressed bring the volume down to the default setting. The blue light under the iBoo is great indicator when the iBoo is on which also serves dual purpose as a night light. If it bothers you then just turn the iBoo off. The shape of the iBoo makes it easy for dusting. Overall a great gadget to have around.
