Product Description

Griffin MX series. What an extremely durable set of deluxe DJ speaker stands! Each of these standard pro-audio speaker stands adjust from 42 inches to 73 inches high. Each stage speaker stand effortlessly supports a maximum of 175 lbs while the high quality steel construction reduces these monitor speaker stands gross weight for exceedingly manageable transport for the busy disc jockey or up-and-coming band. These PA speaker stands also showcase molded plastic leg housing with an ergonomic knob. This knob easily tightens to efficiently secure the leg. Rest assured that the shaft is secure due to a safety pin that locks the PA speaker stand shaft in place. We include two speaker post mounts with every order that can be easily installed to each tripod speaker stand should you wish to use them.

Since they aren't going to be used on a rigorous tour schedule I think that they will do just fine.

The stands are very sturdy and are more than enough to handle the monitors.

These stands arrived about 5 days after ordering, even with the July 4th holiday in between. When I opened the main carton, I found paper padding inside with two separate triangular cardboard boxes inside protecting each stand, along with the two speaker brackets, so you can mount a flat based speaker to these tubular stands.
Let me tell you. For the price, these cannot be beat. Whether you'll use them as your main stands if you're on a budget (as I am), or just to have as an inexpensive spare set for on the road. These collapse to about 39" and are lightweight.
I mounted the brackets to the bottom of my old Gemini Rhino series 12" PA Speakers. These stands and brackets seem plenty sturdy enough to support these speakers, which I would guess are between 40 and 50 lbs each.
All of the stand hardware is nicer than I expected for this price, with exception of the height adjusting pins. They slide in and on another chain is a cotter pin that you would need to insert into the end of the main pin and spread apart in order to secure the pin from sliding out. Not really acceptable if these stands will be repeatedly set up and torn down. I will be replacing these with self-locking pins - the kind with the push button in the center that will allow the pin to unlock and lock. Aside from this single disappointment, I still recommend these stands to anyone, for this price, and think a 5-star rating is perfectly fair.

We have three 12" powered monitors for our band (play mostly in small clubs). The guys are often complaining they can't hear the monitors and I'm constantly fighting between 'loud enough' and feedback. So I bought these to put two of them at ear level on the sides of the stage (right behind the mains). Now the they can hear the monitors just fine and I actually have them all turned down below where they were.

The stands are very sturdy and are more than enough to handle the monitors. And if I ever want/need to, I can put our powered 15" mains on them too (we mostly mount those on poles on the subwoofers). Great stands! Well worth the price!

I bought these stands for under $50 knowing full well that I should not expect them to be identical to those costing 3x as much. I'm not a pro DJ and don't need the best equipment, but I do expect function. I was disappointed when one of the stands broke during my first gig (speakers only weight 47lbs). What a bummer. I emailed the seller (even thought the return period had run out) and they sent me a replacement part. Now they're good as new. So, I'm quite happy with my purchase. Just be a little more careful when moving them around loaded and you'll be good.

From all outward appearances and test setup, these stands seem to be what I was looking for in an affordable stand. Since they aren't going to be used on a rigorous tour schedule I think that they will do just fine. I do wonder about the durability of the speaker mounting brackets as they are made only of heavy duty plastic and it would seem to me that repeated loosening and tightening of the security screw would eventually strip the threads - just a thought!

Not bad, Even though it's says a 175 lb load, they seem to struggle a bit with my Yamaha BR15's. A little unstable. Probably because I have to extend them to the fullest just to get them high enough. But hey, for 60 bucks, they do the trick for now.

Sturdy stands! No carry bag. 5 stars if bag included. I recommend. I use with 70 pound speakers and have not had any issues.
