The entire book is a sales ad to get you to spend $100 for the 'real information.' Don't waste $15 to read an ad!

Bought this book a while back and read through it in about an hour. while it has 'some' good information, the book is definitely geared towards signing you up for Mr. Hall's website and services. In fact the majority of the book is nothing more than a sales pitch.
Anyone interested in this topic would be better served in going directly to the "Speakers Cruise Free" site and get a 'special report' for free which is basically the same material. Then if he has capturd your interst you can sign up and save a few bucks to offset the program cost. Just bear in mind that if you sign up for the report you will get follow-up E-mails for the duration. Not that they are necessarily bad, as some are quite interesting. As you can tell, I have not signed up for Mr. Hall's services, although I am weakening!

The Amazon reviews were all stellar, so I bought the book.
I read the entire book (definitely less than an hour) and unfortunately didn't learn anything new. There were no contacts or even names of cruise ships which would have been helpful. Lots of references on how he can help you even more if you purchase his coaching etc. which was disappointing! A caveat....I am a speaker so this MIGHT be helpful to a complete novice, but I gave it to a friend who is not a speaker who vacations a lot and she didn't finish it. She said "lots of fluff and only a few points." I would feel more comfortable if this was marketed to people who have never done any speaking and if there were not so many references to "hire me." :(

OK, but not great,
This review is from: Speakers Cruise Free: The Opportunity To Trade Your Talents For Free Luxury Cruises (Paperback)
This book delivers the goods in terms of what most speakers need to know. The problem is that most of it is perfectly obvious to anyone who's ever climbed onto his hind legs to give a talk. And the book was marred by silly typos - how do you spell 'champagne', for example?

This book didn't quite tell me everything I needed to know (it's intentionally written that way), so I decided to attend one of Mr. Hall's webinars to learn more about this opportunity. He apparently thinks he is such an expert in this career field that he can assign points based on our interests, experience, qualifications, etc. For instance, we could assign ourselves one measly point if we enjoy traveling. At the end, after we had rated ourselves and assigned ourselves these points, he said if we didn't have 24 points or more, he wouldn't train us because we probably don't have what it takes. His point system was so arbitrary and inflexible (its either 8 pts or zero for some questions, and no in-between) that it could easily "disqualify" many potentially great and entertaining speakers. The "disqualified" listeners probably could have either lied or easily persuaded him to accept their money anyway. By the way, I came up only a couple of points short by my completely subjective rating, so this didn't bother me as much as the arrogant and misguided attitude behind the whole thing. This isn't rocket science. I would just ask people maybe two questions: Can you entertain a crowd while giving them interesting or useful information? And, is there a reason why people should be interested in what you have to share, i.e., are you a recognized expert? Obviously, there is a need to qualify people. However, I felt that Mr. Hall was out of line in dashing the hopes of so many listeners whose expectations and dreams he had just built up with his lengthy presentation. He could have at least said that some of you may need a little more time and experience, so by all means work on it and don't let me dash your hopes if you think you have a realistic chance. Or, he could even have said, go for it anyway if that's your heart's desire. Ultimately, it's the cruise lines' decision, not mine!! People are mostly responsible for creating their own destinies. This is not just "self-help" talk. It should be common sense based on what we see people doing all around us as they overcome obstacles in their lives. Some of the reviewers who gave him 5 stars are promoting their own books in their reviews. This detracts from their credibility. As another reviewer pointed out, Amazon shouldn't be selling advertising.

The Best Way to Cruise is the Free Way!,
By Lady Carolyn (Reno, NV) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Speakers Cruise Free: The Opportunity To Trade Your Talents For Free Luxury Cruises (Paperback)
I am a successful edutainer in my part of the world, I have been on cruises, I have approached the cruise lines with my presentations. They thought what I did was entertaining and educational and they would get back with me. What Daniel Hall's book brought to life for me was WHAT the cruise lines are looking for in their guest lecture positions. After tweaking my presentations, I am now an approved speaker on the cruise lines and off to cruising the best way possible -FREE!

This book is amazing! Author Daniel Hall takes you on an adventure behind the scenes to understand the staffing needs of enrichment programs on cruise ships. He reveals the "secrets" he stumbled across when interested in combining his love for traveling with his passion to create. Having enjoyed many global cruises, he explains that "getting free cruises isn't rocket science" and he literally gives the reader a step-by-step blueprint on how to trade your talents for FREE luxury cruises. This book is exciting to read. Not only is it written in a way that is very easy to understand but the information is organized and delivered in a way that makes reading it a snap. The ideas and opportunities the author shares are endless. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned speaker this book is packed with helpful information that will have you traveling the globe on "complimentary" cruises in no time. Included is a fabulous bonus section which I thoroughly enjoyed. If you have a passion to see the world, this book can take you anywhere on the high seas you want to go. Bon voyage!
