YA --The thought of speaking in public is enough to panic anyone, but it is undeniable that skills in preparing and delivering ideas verbally are important in this age of information. Vassallo takes the view that speaking becomes easier with preparation and attention to detail, and provides a wealth of helpful information on virtually every speaking situation. The text is logically organized, readable, liberally sprinkled with pertinent quotes and anecdotes from noted personalities, and contains many tested tips, suggestions, and checklists covering everything from conquering stage fright to appearing on television. Although sparsely illustrated, the book is lively, rich in mental imagery, and should appeal to beginners as well as those more seasoned in the art of verbal communication.
