For people who want a book for reflection, this is a good choice. Commentary on Buddhist and Christian traditions dialogue and reflect on their theology and practice. The material is an excellent example of interreligious dialogue, and contains many pearls of wisdom about life and death, prayer and meditation.

Mysticism stresses personal experience rather than theology. The value of this becomes crystal clear in "Speaking of Silence, Christians and Buddhists in dialog." including the The Dalai Lama, Chögyam Trumpa, David Steindl-Rast, Tessa Bielecki, Thomas Keating, and many others. Even though Buddhism and Christianity are very different theologically, the mystical experiences described in the book are very close and the dialog based on mystical experiences and prayer is heart warming and inclusive. I am reminded of the teaching of Lama Marut (raised Baptist with a Baptist father and grandfather, a professor of comparative religion at Columbia and UC Riverside, and then an ordained Buddhist monk) who said that "in the swimming pool of world religions all the noise comes from the shallow end."
