A native of Rochester, New York, and educated at Harvard, he has received a Maryland State Arts Council individual artist grant and writing residencies in the United States and abroad. His poems have appeared in such journals as American Writing and African American Review; he is author of one chapbook, Cathode Ray Blues, and an audiotape of his poems.
