"The Special Artist's Handbook" was one of the first books that I purchased when I first became an Art Teacher. I love it! Fantastic ideas---super tall sandwiches, Wayne Thiebaud ice cream cones, bubble gum machines, silhouette landscapes, to name a few---plus lots of different art materials---painting, printmaking, clay, weaving, and watercolor. And each lesson includes a list of materials, teacher prep, and step-by-step student directions. Plus---and this is the best part---each lesson comes with directions and tips on how to teach that lesson to students with special needs! A must-have book for every Art Teacher.

The special needs include: gifted, developmentally disabled and physically handicapped approaches for aspiring artists. If the book is reprinted I would like to see color images included.
