Book Description

Cook an impressive and stress-free romantic dinner for someone special with this impressive collection of easy dinner recipes for two. Special Dinners for Two features classic, retro favorites, such as Chicken Cacciatore, Caesar Salad, Pavlova, and Chocolate Twice-Dipped Strawberries.

All recipes call for fresh, all-natural ingredients, and very little salt, to create an easy, satisfying dinner for special occasions. Many of the recipes are even quick and easy enough to cook and eat on busy weekdays with your family. Recipes are tailored for two to four, but all can easily be doubled to serve larger groups. Some can even be frozen and reheated for busy weekday meals.

This collection of easy dinner recipes for two includes:

1. PHOTOS of EVERY RECIPE so you know what it looks like before you cook. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case flavors and aromas!

2. DONE-FOR-YOU MENUS: The book lists a total of seven recommended menus highlighting the recipes in the book, providing stress-free planning.

3. COOKING TIPS to make it extra easy: The recipes comes with tips, such as a "How to Melt Chocolate," substitution ideas, and suggestions for alternate ways to serve a dish.

4. THIRTY-SEVEN DELICIOUS RECIPES with step-by-step instructions. Even complete beginners or cooks who insist "I swear I burn every dish" can do it. From appetizer ideas and healthy salads to entrees and delicious desserts, this book shows how to cook dishes such as Stuffed Pork Medallions, Chicken Saltimbocca, Baked Sole in a Light Cream Sauce, and mouth-watering specialties as Bacon-Wrapped Mushrooms and Minty Chocolate Molten Cake.

5. The BEST CAESAR SALAD RECIPE YOU'VE EVER TASTED. Not only can it turn enemies into friends, fighters into lovers, but it can even turn ho-hum cooks into rock stars in the kitchen. It's that good.

Cooking a romantic dinner for two doesn't have to be stressful or unhealthy -- and it shouldn't be: A delicious gourmet meal should be nearly as fun to cook as it is to eat, any day of the week, and this book shows you how to make that happen.

Cook with love and eat well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Darn Awesome February 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was absolutely charmed by the introduction and their philosophy about cream and butter makes sense to me. (Meaning it's a philosophy that allows me to eat butter and cream occasionally. Yum.)

The recipes are clear, the photos are lovely and realistic, and the book is formatted well with bold text and hyperlinks to make things clearer and easier to navigate. The tips are helpful, as well. Many of the recipes are indeed better suited for "special" meals where one can take some more time, but some could fit easily into my regular cooking rotation. Technically speaking, as an experienced home-level cook (not "accomplished"), I wouldn't hesitate to try these. Had I read these when I was more inexperienced, I think I would have been comfortable trying them.

The food itself sounds delicious and most recipes have a variation or two on ones I've seen before. I hadn't seen that particular version of cacciatore, and I'm definitely trying it soon.

The title says "Special Dinners for Two," but some recipes indicate they make more than 2 servings (although information and suggestions on leftovers are provided). I also almost skipped this book because I am usually cooking for more than two. Maybe this release is for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday, but I think a less specific title would be more appropriate. I'd hate for this book to be missed because someone isn't interested in "dinners for two."

I think it's a good resource for planning a special meal, and it's definitely something I would use for that purpose, right down to the menus. I also think I am going to pull a few recipes out and put them into general use soon - those butter twists sound really tasty, and I need a side dish idea for tonight!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an awesome book! February 2, 2012

I love that these recipes are from "scratch". I often balk at any recipe that tells me to use something pre-made or pre-packaged.
This recipe book was obviously put together not only with an exceptional attention to detail but with a lot of love as well.
They have interlinked recipes, making it easy to jump to items that go well together and also give complete meal suggestions.
The accompanying photos make this book irresistible.

What a great cookbook! If you have been meaning to designate a "date night" with your significant other, this book gives you tons of possible menus. The Broccoli and Cheese Pie recipe has ALL of our favorite things in it and that will be the first one we try. Love the tips and the menu suggestions. Great find.
