Collin Noonan has the world in his hands, being the youngest top executive at his firm, the envy of all men as well as the lover of many women. Collin has won this game every year and this year will be no exception that is until he meets Regina Talbot

Regina Talbot is your average ‘Plain Jane’, she’s never been part of the ‘in crowd’ always keeping to herself and is extremely painfully shy towards men. She never would think that any man would be interested in her, especially that of handsome Collin Noonan.

Watch as Collin and Regina began on a road of self-discovery of themselves as well as the obstacles that will eventually causes problems for their future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Special! October 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The storyline is what drew me to this book. The idea of a man winning a game just because his date turns out to be the plainest, the most ordinary (basically not attractive) of all the women, was different. I had never heard of such. Then when you add the IR aspect into the mix, I wanted to read the book even more.

Although I love the conflict and drama that IR romances can have because of the race issue, I also like when two individuals of a different color can meet and fall in love and face dramas that have nothing to do with the color of the skin. This was one of those books.

I think the main characters in this book were fully developed and I enjoyed that no one was perfect. Regina was not a statuesque beauty, she was a plain, ordinary, slightly curvy, black woman. Collin; although successful in his field, was not a billionaire with more money then he could even spend. He was a man that loved his mother, his mother's cooking, and wasn't afraid to cry.

The connection between Regina & Collin; considering their job rankings were on different ends of the spectrum, was believable. The love scenes in this story are very, very hot! (not kinky), just hot! However, they don't take over the storyline, and they seem to fit the normal course of Regina and Collin's relationship.

This is the first book that I have read by Jamallah Bergman, and I must say that it was a great read. The story flowed well, and the length was perfect.

I look forward to reading other books by this author.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't ready to be published February 28, 2013
By Shay B.
Format:Kindle Edition
When I first read the synopsis on this book I was intrigued I really wanted it to be good but, it just wasn't. I found myself fighting just to keep from throwing it away. I should've read the bad reviews and, seen what they said before getting this book. One thing that i've discovered is that people will give five stars to any book as long as it has semi good sex scenes and, reads slightly better then a children's book. First thing I had a problem with and, the most annoying thing for me reading this was the fact that the writer didn't seem to know how to transition her characters from one setting to another. Example, at the beginning of the book the male lead wakes in bed with another woman. He's not dressed neither is she. He tells her that she needs to get ready to leave so she want be late for work they talk for a bit then his phone rings, he answers has a conversation and, then suddenly he's in his car starting it. Wait what? No, explanation for it, like having him leave the room to get ready or, have the woman leave, no he's just sudddenly in his car. That keeps happening throughout the story first the they're at one place then out of nowhere they're somewhere else. Like the female lead standing in the parking garage waiting for her friend, she sees her she tells her about her date then somehow they're at the grocery store! The next thing that bothered me is the female lead, she seems to me to be suffering from some kind of mental illness because no normal woman no matter how shy should act the way she does. Like shaking so bad near a guy that she starts rattling the cart that she's pushing. I'm shy and, I don't freak like that, it was just over doing it. In my opinion this book reads like the first draft of a story and, then the author decided it didn't need any work and, got it published like this. My advice to the writer is take some classes, hire an editor and, spend more time developing your story before getting it published. I know think this is the writers first book (at least I hope it was) but, I really don't think i'll be buying anymore of her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story! October 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Loved, loved, loved this book! The emotions Ms. Bergman wrote into this story were so intense. At times I wanted to smack the hero but then I just wanted to hug him close. The heroine grew emotionally as well and became a very strong woman. Can't wait to read more by Ms. Bergman.

2.0 out of 5 stars Utterly dreadful--what a waste of a great premise
I don't know where to begin. This book from start to finish was utterly dreadful. As other reviewers have noted the dialogue was plastic, stilted and totally unrealistic. Read more

More About the Author

Writer Jamallah Bergman was born in Jamaica Queens, New York. Although her family moved around a bit; from New York to Alabama to Georgia. Jamallah's childhood was mostly spent in Roswell, Georgia.

At the age of twelve, Jamallah started writing scripts for her doll babies. As she got older, her inclination to write grew.

Soon after reading her first romance novel at fifteen; she became hooked on romance and deviated from writing her doll baby stories, to romantically inclined stories.

Her thirst to write eventually sent her from one out of the box experience to another. She eventually engaged her thoughts and writing into writing erotic stories.

As Jamallah's interest as a reader grew, questions aroused her curiosity. Why were the heroines in the stories she loved so much, nothing like herself. She felt none of the women were full figured, or plump. To coin a phrase from the well known comedienne Mo'Nique, like "Thick Madame", a thick and curvy woman.

Often she became upset because she felt there should be stories out there about all types of women, including thick, beautiful women like herself. Why were there no stories about full figured women who got the handsome hunk? She would ask herself after reading another romance story where the beautiful main character was thin.

After researching and finding very few stories about curvy women, Jamallah thought it was time the romance readers market read more stories about full figured heroines.

She started to write stories where the full figured woman 'ALWAYS' got her man!
