Good idea, poor execution
The upper half fits loosely over the lower half, so you can have a 1/4" difference in the depth of the cut as you slice. Also the tip of the blade is 3/8" off center with no way of adjusting it (the base of the blade is centered). A bagel sliced using this will have a slope, 1/4" thick on one side and 1/2" thick or greater on the other. I can make a much more even cut...

The Bagel Guillotine is a great product! I'm disabled and have very limited use of my left hand and my right is also weak. Slicing bagels was very difficult and dangerous for me. This slices bagels in a snap. I wish I'd thought of it myself.

I feel safer with this bagel slicer in the house. No more knicking your fingers trying to slide through bagels. This bagel slicer is attractive enough to keep on the counter if you need to, and it really takes all thought out of slicing bagels. I can even let my two-year old assist me, and she really has a good time seeing the fruits of her labor.

I bought this bagel slicer so my kids wouldn't cut themselves when slicing bagels with a knife.

I have a great Jewish Bagel Place right down the street from my house. I keep this cool little guillotine right by the toaster. It's nice because it matches the toaster.

The Bagel Guillotine is great to have for cutting bagels. Makes cutting easy & effortless. No more bloody fingers! Caution when cleaning the blade: it's very sharp & not easy fitting a sponge around it. Overall, excellent product.
