This book contains about 50 designs for cross stitch on several different themes. Some are for intended for frames, others for pillows, table runners, banners, and other household projects. For the variety of good patterns I would give it five stars. But the organization of the book can be a little confusing at times, since it shows its samplers as month-to-month projects rather than by subject. I would also prefer the picture of the sampler to be on the same page as the pattern whenever possible, but this is not always the case. Overall, I do not regret my purchase and would recommend "Special Occasions in Cross Stitch" to anyone would like to have a little bit of everything in one book.
