Good, but not great, book by the former Chief of the Service,
By Vince Palamara "SECRET SERVICE/JFK/STEELERS/M... (South Park/Bethel Park, PA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Special Agent A Quarter Century With The Treasury Department And The Secret Service (Hardcover)
As the leading civilian authority on the U.S. Secret Service, I was moderately impressed with Frank J. Wilson's book, co-written with Beth Day, entitled "Special Agent." Don't get me wrong: it's a fine book...but some of the facts are wrong, there's no index, it's alittle dated, and alittle dry in places. Still, for the Secret Service researcher, it's essential.

Frank Wilson had a great career with the federal government. He work on the Lindberg kidnapped baby case, the Al Capone tax evasion case and served as chief of the Secret Service for FDR during World War II. I like this book because it details all the hard work that the IRS agent performed in breaking the case against Capone. It is a great book for the student of tax, accounting and history.

Great History Book,
A Kid's Review
The author tells the true story of how IRS agents caught Al Capone on income tax evasion. The author went on to be the chief of the Secret Service when FDR was president.
