I recently purchased an iPod Classic 120 and, since then, have been looking for a quality case. Most important for me was providing good protection for the iPod and keeping that brand-new screen scratch-free!

After looking at DOZENS of options (and purchasing/returning a few), I discovered the Speck Armorskin case. It's a keeper! It provides great, non-slip grip. For ME, the best part is the hard plastic piece that comes with it. (I originally started to throw it away...OOOOPS!) It fits smoothly over the top of the iPod and covers the screen and the top of the unit (not the wheel) with a thick layer of plastic. Nice, indeed.

I've never been motivated to write an amazon review before, so this is a first. Guess that in itself is a commentary on how pleased I am with this item!

***Quick update...that plastic piece IS nice, BUT it is quite prone to scratching, etc. A tad disappointing. The company DOES sell replacements for $1.95 each, so I guess that's some consolation...***

Incredibly easy to install. Great protection. Won't slide around in your hand or on a horizontal surface. The only caveat is the non-slip skin makes it more difficult to pull out of a pocket. On the other hand, it will be less likely to fall out.

Very simple, no fuss product. Works as advertised, protects my ipod, nothing can get gouged or scratched except the wheel, which is just fine with me. Mainly it's to protect engraving on the back, and this will do that just fine and still be able to read it.

Haven't dropped it yet, but not too worried if i do now.
Very sturdy protection and the grooves provide good grip.

I searched quite a bit for an Armorskin for my brand New Ipod Classic.
I was not too sure about many of the offerings out there, until I found this one.

I am glad I didn't just buy the first one I saw. This product will protect the Ipod with its 3 elements, a hard acrylic cover piece for the front, leaving the center wheel accessible, while protecting the screen with a nice thick 1/8 inch screen cover. The back of the Ipod is also protected by a flexible laminate that fits into the rugged silicon cover.

It will make the thickness of your Ipod double, but its a small inconvenience, but it will protect it in case of a drop.

There is one more issue with the added thickness of this protective cover, it will unable you to set the Ipod on a dock, I have the Sony I dock, and need to remove the cover anytime I want to play it at home.
But again, I rather remove it and replace it everytime.

I have not seen what the effect of extreme heat will do to this product, cars get very hot in Texas, about 110 degrees or more, and I have yet to see what will happen if left inside the car at that extreme temperature.

If you are searching for a cost effective product to protect your investment, I believe that this is definitely a strong contender in the market of Ipod accessories.

It's not the most attractive thing, but it does a good job of protecting the iPod and the screen. There is a hard cover for the face plate, and a soft insert if your iPod is thinner than the case that helps hold everything in place. It would be nice if it came with a strap or a clip.

This is a great product! We have it for our 7th Generation 120 GB iPod. We had to use the extra insert (which says it's for the 80 GB) so just remember that when you get it, if it seems too loose. It tractions our iPod very well so that it doesn't slip and slide around. It covers it nicely, and still looks classy. Only the turning wheel is exposed, but everything else is covered.

I am so glad I purchased this product! I think the only negative thing about it is that I just purchased the iTrip and I have to slip the bottom part of the armorskin off in order to attach the iTrip. They do sell iTrips that would extend out and have a cord, which would probably work perfectly, but all in all it's a wonderful product, I would fault that more on the iTrip than this skin.

After comparing countless iPod cases, I ended up choosing the Speck Armorskin for my 120gb iPod classic. And what a good decision that was! This case is very sturdy and provides excellent protection against scratches and accidental drops. What sets this case apart from the others is the plastic piece that protects the front and screen of the iPod (only the click wheel is exposed). Great feature! The package includes a piece that goes inside the case to provide a more secure fit. I would recommend using this piece no matter which iPod you have (I believe it was intended for use with the 60gb). It really made a difference in the fitment for my 120gb and it provides just a bit more padding in case of a drop.

Now for the best part...
It FITS inside the Bose sounddock iPod dock with no problems!! You don't have to take the case off to use it! We have the first generation Bose sounddock that uses a cord, not the rechargable model. I'm not sure of the fitment for the newer models. Anyhow, this is one of the best parts about this case. It provides great protection and you aren't required to take off the case to use the Bose sounddock. Highly Recommended!

This case is the greatest. It fits snug around your Ipod and it protects everything except the touch wheel. The silicon around the Ipod helps absorb the shock if you drop your Ipod.

This iPod case is great. It feels so durable that I feel like I could drop it off a building, and no harm would come to my iPod.

This case works very well! It makes the my ipod a little bulky, but works great!
