I've never owned an iPod, however the 5G's features were just too good to resist. I'm the type that likes to protect electronics as much as possible, so I spent the better part of a week researching and trying some cases for it. The Speck one wins for several reasons.

Not only does it look cool, but the grooved material provides a smooth feel yet provides good shock absorption. It's not transparent and covers the entire unit except for screen and wheel, so you won't be able to see what color your iPod is...but who cares? It looks dark and sleek, and you won't have to worry about dropping it. It's a bit thicker than many other cases, but that's a good thing.

The cutouts for the lock and camera are perfectly aligned, and the bottom is completely open for headphones & port. And therein lies my only minor quibble: sometimes the iPod will slide a bit down and I will have to push it back up, but it's a snug fit and definitely not a negative.

Overall, I like the unique design and feel my investment is protected!

I wanted a case to make holding my ipod easier (I have arthritis) and protect it in case of an accidental drop. This case fit perfectly and feels really nice in the hand. Some similar rubber cases have funny odors or feel really sticky after a short time - not this case. The only minor negatives I have are that it can make selecting the controls (like pause) slightly harder because the click wheel is essentially recessed by the case. Second it prevents the use of most standard docks.

Fits well, protects, and prolongs the life of your ipod. Great for avoiding those dings and dents that are common with ipod usage. However this does nothing to protect the actual screen from scratches. You will need a separate screen protector if you are concerned about protecting your screen from scratches.

I compared different cases at the mall and non of them felt very secure or protective. I looked around for awhile and found this one and decided to give it a try.

The fit is perfect. When I first put it on it didn't look like it fit right. But after playing with it a bit and giving it some good good tugs I got it in place and it fits perfect. Everything aligns right and you can access all your controls easily.

It does not offer any screen protection but I paired mine with a Belkin Lillian Screen Overlay for iPod nano 5G (Clear) and they work great together.

It won't fit in a standard dock, but for me that's not a problem, and if it was I think you could easily modify a dock insert to work with it.

This case feels great to hold. The quality is excellent. Access to the wheel, buttons, connection points are not impeded. The camera and voice elements are also unimpeded by this case. Dust has not been a problem. However, beware that your presumably brightly colored IPod will now become black, as the case covers everthing except the essential areas. Of course, if you have a black IPod, this is not an issue. All in all - this is the most impressive and desirable case I've seen for the IPod Nano 5 and would highly recommend it for anyone who has been unhappy with their current case or is looking for a quality protective covering that allows one to get a good grip on the device.

After spending 2 weeks looking at cases (hard & soft) I took my chances on the Speck PixelSkin rubberized case. 10 positive reviews weren't alot, but what the reviewers had to say was more than enough to gain my confidence. This case fits the nano like a cushioned glove. The rubber is not slippery; hence it will take a lot for it to slip out of a pocket. There is no conflict between the iPod and my Griffin Amplify player which was a pleasant surprise in itself. I also purchased a Zagg screen protector. What good is a case without having something to ensure my screen will stay scratch free? This case definately beats everything I've seen in the stores and on the internet. If it weren't for the reviews posted before mine, I may never have known it!

Bought this for my son's iPod for protection, he loves it. The ribbed feel is great and he loves the texture. You will need an additional product to protect the screen itself, but for the money, this was a wonderful product, and I looked at them all. It looks and feels cool.

This is an excellent protector for the 5th gen I-Pod. It fits like a glove and is rubberized to protect from drops. It allows for easy access to all controls, including the camera lens. Just buy a cheap, static screen protector and you will have the best protection you can get for your I-Pod!!

I bought this from amazon...initially i was a bit sceptically abt the product ...but this works like wonder....looks amazing and most importantly protects your Ipod..

I would definitely recommend this product for nano.

It's a nice, snug fit and does the job of protecting the Nano. Non-slip, stays put on the dash board or in the gym bag. Decent drop protection as well.
