I ordered this case for my new unibody MacBook Pro, on which I spent most of my life savings (I'm in college). The bottom part of the case does not fit tightly in the front because the only clips are on either side. It sort of sagged down in the center, near the cutout where you put your fingers to flip the top open. Some small particle got caught in between the case and the computer, and proceeded to dig a nasty scratch into it as the loose-fitting case moved up and down. Also, the case has somehow taken some of the finish off the aluminum shell that houses the screen, leaving behind ugly black spots. My only two options now are either to deal with the damage or pay $400 to get the casing replaced. Thank you, Speck.

What is in the box?

Lid cover and body cover
Microfiber cloth

Constructed of a gray plastic, this see through case protects your notebook against scratches and fingerprints while giving you access to the ports. It also has vents in the bottom to allow for air to circulate. Rubber pads on the base keep the notebook stable on a hard surface.

The only inconvenience is having to take the case off to exchange batteries (if you are a mobile user with an extra battery).

The case adds about a millimeter thickness on each dimension of the notebook.

I don't expect this to protect the notebook against dents or dings from trauma or to protect the notebook against drops. You are better off with a Shinza, Booq or Brenthave sleeve. I don't expect protection from dust given the vents in the bottom and openings for ports.

Overall, this was easy to install.

I highly recommend this item to protect your computer from regular wear and tear use.

Excellent eye candy that is functional for the MacBookPro. Sleek custom fit in a variety of eye catching colors. I chose purple because it is my favorite color. The backlit apple on the back of my screen now is a beautiful shade of mauve. This is a great accessory to protect your investment and make it look even more hot than what a Mac product already is. Improvement to perfection is possible.
