I ordered this case for my new unibody MacBook Pro, on which I spent most of my life savings (I'm in college). The bottom part of the case does not fit tightly in the front because the only clips are on either side. It sort of sagged down in the center, near the cutout where you put your fingers to flip the top open. Some small particle got caught in between the case and the computer, and proceeded to dig a nasty scratch into it as the loose-fitting case moved up and down. Also, the case has somehow taken some of the finish off the aluminum shell that houses the screen, leaving behind ugly black spots. My only two options now are either to deal with the damage or pay $400 to get the casing replaced. Thank you, Speck.

Constructed of a gray plastic, this see through case protects your notebook against scratches and fingerprints while giving you access to the ports. It also has vents in the bottom to allow for air to circulate. Rubber pads on the base keep the notebook stable on a hard surface.

The only inconvenience is having to take the case off to exchange batteries (if you are a mobile user with an extra battery).

The case adds about a millimeter thickness on each dimension of the notebook.

I don't expect this to protect the notebook against dents or dings from trauma or to protect the notebook against drops. You are better off with a Shinza, Booq or Brenthave sleeve. I don't expect protection from dust given the vents in the bottom and openings for ports.

Overall, this was easy to install.

I highly recommend this item to protect your computer from regular wear and tear use.

Excellent eye candy that is functional for the MacBookPro. Sleek custom fit in a variety of eye catching colors. I chose purple because it is my favorite color. The backlit apple on the back of my screen now is a beautiful shade of mauve. This is a great accessory to protect your investment and make it look even more hot than what a Mac product already is. Improvement to perfection is possible.

I was trying to take the case off to clean some of the dust from the lovely MacBook Pro and the top clip got stuck on the display and cracked it. I was being careful removing it, but it happened anyway. I'm now out $500+ to get the display fixed. Speck only warranties their product and not the cover that can cause damage to your computer. You'll have to take it off when you replace the battery some day.

Think twice before buying this.

I just got my case today and I love it! It was very easy to put on my MBP-- it just snaps right on. It does show fingerprints, but I would rather fingerprints/scratches show up on my case than on my Macbook. I got mine in bright pink and it looks great. The only downside I have found is that it slightly covers the security slot (the small hole on the right side), which would be used for a computer lock. (which is much like a bike lock) So I would have to take the bottom cover piece off if I ever wanted to use the security slot. On the plus side, it comes with a cleaning cloth because they recommend that you should take off the cover and clean it every once in while. Over all I am very satisfied with my 15-Inch Aluminum Unibody/Black Keyboard See Thru Case for MacBook (Pink) by Speck. I definitely recommend this case!

Fantastic fit - have no problems whatsoever. It slightly covers some small non-functional hole on the right side, but that's it. No problems opening or closing, putting on or taking off! And it looks COOL!

This was probably one of my better purchases for my macbook. It protects the macbook quite well and I don't have to worry about it getting scratched up too much. The only problems I see is that the clear color "yellows" a little over time (and I don't mean a long time... maybe like a few months). Also, small particles can get inside the front lip of the cover and potentially scratch the macbook slightly there which brings me to the last imperfection. There are no clips on the front edge to keep the cover tight.. there are 4 and they are arranged two on each side of the macbook (this is for the bottom panel of course). So that is basically all the bad about this product but even knowing these things I would have still bought it because the protection it provides otherwise is well worth the flaws. Hope this is helpful.

Fits perfectly on my 1st Gen. Unibody MacBook Pro 15" Seems to add complete protection from scratches and scrapes. Looks great.

Just a quick note, the Speck MacBook Pro 15" cover is an excellent choice to protect the aluminum surface of your new MacBook Pro. The price is right, for a product to protect the MAcBook.

This was a great buy, it looks awesome on my Mac. I thought it would look dull and maybe a little faded but its looks a vibrant red and I am super happy with the service and the product.
